I am a long-haul trucker and love to stop at "local" places. The name here is Best Pizza In Town. Do they live up to their name????? Well, I went in. Pretty nice looking place, clean restrooms and freshly cleaned tables. Always a good sign. $ 8.99 includes drink... Good price. Discount for kids and seniors. Got seated, time for the buffet. Checked out the salad bar. Ok I guess, very clean. Lettuce, a dozen or so toppings, pineapple pieces, basic dressings but I ain't here for no stinking salad so it's straight to the 🍕 🍕. Wow, all kinds of pie. Pepperoni, cheese and garlic, buffalo chicken, supreme, meat lovers, sausage and pepperoni, and on and on. I started with the pepperoni. Yummy. I love pepperoni but with so many choices this was gonna be a hard night. Each time a new pie was brought out they would shout out the name. "Chicken and mushroom", "supreme" and so on. Everything I tasted was good. They had Mac and Cheese and spaghetti on the buffet, yummy. They even had desert pizza which was Oreo topping and one with sprinkles. My drink was refilled quickly and used plates were removed quickly by the friendly wait staff. Everyone was friendly! I met the owner Lee Whiteside and he told me all about the restaurant and how pizza and race cars were in his blood. Sure enough, behind the restaurant was his race car garage.
I ate so much I didn't think I would be able to climb back into my truck but somehow I managed. I might need a "plop plop-fizz fizz" later on but if so that's my fault.
So, Best Pizza In Town? Well if you want an authentic Chicago deep-dish pizza, you're gonna have to go to Chicago and shell out 40 bucks for one but if you want the best pizza in Gaffney SC, this is truly the "Best Pizza In Town".
I'm a trucker. I do not tell the restaurant in advance that I review for Google. I do not accept anything except the posted discounts or daily specials. I do travel all over the country and try to avoid the "chains" whenever possible. Support local business owners when possible and keep your money in the...
Read moreTo b fair we never even got the chance to eat here. I checked the reviews after seeing it from the highway and we called and talked to Megan at 2:30pm to ask about menu and pricing. We were told that they started serving their wings at 4:30 pm and as I was bringing 6 ppl I wanted a good selection and wings r my favorite. So we went home and waited for 2 hrs then headed out. I unload my family of 6 to b told "oh well he just changed it today and we arent serving wings now until 5pm. Needless to say I was very irritated after calling, waiting 2 more hrs and making my hungry family wait to eat. So we all left and went to Daddy Joe's**I have never responded back b4 so I did not know how....just adding to my post. I appreciate the apology. To b honest I called so I didn't check facebook....I am not on facebook much anymore as we had a very bad year last year and I figured calling in and getting first hand info was the best method. I do beleive the shift of your employee that day was 2 pm as we spoke to her on the phone around that time...but regardless as u said u were at fault for not informing her.....she was friendly and apologetic when we came in knowing what she had told us earlier so I wasn't blaming her. And apparently it is an all around miscommunication. Thanku very much for taking the time to acknowledge my concerns and I have 3 boys that love pizza so I am sure we will try back at some point. Again thanku...
Read moreLove the pizza buffet. I especially like that their pizza isn't deep dish or super thick. They will make you a pizza to order. The only problem I have with this place is there lack of ability to keep staff so at times it takes them a long time to refill your beverage or get forks or items that are empty on the salad bar. For being a pizza place I really do enjoy their salad bar. The other thing I don't care for is they have chicken wings. But they won't provide a little bowl or cup to put ranch dressing in for the wings. They expect you to put it on a plate. That is wasteful and you can't get the wings into the dressing that way without using a lot more dressing. I asked a few times for a little Styrofoam cup to break down to put a little dressing in. They used to allow it. Now they said they can't do it. So rather than one little scoop of dressing in a small container, it takes 4 to 5 scoops to even be able to get the chicken into the dressing. When I have asked to see the manager or have the manager call me it never has happened. We go here every Friday. It is very noisy which is expected. Lots of kids. But put a little condiment bowl out for your condiments. You would save a lot of money and not have to run out of plates for people...
