UF Welcome Center — Attraction in Gainesville

Boy oh boy is this swanky now. Glad my tuition dollars could pay for something I did not get to enjoy. As an alumni I walked around to get a feel for it and was sort of disappointed for the add on. Seems like a lot of offices and by a lot I mean the majority. There’s a large open area for students to meet. The strangest thing I saw was a meditation room. Yup, a meditation room. Aside from the addition they added a few years ago the rest of the Reitz is pretty nice. Bookstore is large and has everything at a nice expensive price tag. As well as a decent food court. Back in my day Cheeburger Cheeburger was the place to get sick. Luckily it’s gone. I’m glad they’re keeping the Reitz Union name and not changing it as of right now. Reitz was an important person to the University and could be credited of making UF what it is today. A top 10...

We had a wonderful experience during our campus tour. Our tour guide, Bryn, was spectacular! We loved the wealth of information she provided during the tour, and her enthusiasm the whole time we were together made us appreciate our surroundings even more. Very welcoming and helpful, with a lot to do in just this one area, with a bookstore, and then a food court upstairs. It definitely met the criteria for being convenient, and people were of course friendly.
