Awful delivery capabilities.
This is my second attempt to reach out to RTG customer service. I was really hoping someone would step up and do the right thing and get my furniture to my home today. It appears that customer satisfaction with regard to your delivery abilities is not a priority.
To whom it may concern: The following is an email that I sent to Keith Porter and a copy to Victor Vega today. My experience with your delivery has been awful. This was the third time I have had issues. I am hoping that I get my furniture tomorrow rather than Saturday!
A "manager" without the ability to make a decision based on actual logistics and consider the entirety of a situation is just a guy with a title. You should take a look online at the various Rooms to Go reviews, the majority reflect negatively with regard to delivery. I personally, have had issues with the last three deliveries from RTG; two rooms to my home in GA and this most recent to my SC home.
Even my 19 year old daughter said, "Belton, that is so close."
I have another apartment to furnish in Dahlonega as well as bedroom that I would like to change out. Michelle at the Gaineville, GA store is excellent to work with but she will lose these sales because I will go elsewhere to purchase furniture in the future.
Keith, you were excellent at making excuses and rattling off the number of stops that the driver had to make. You did nothing to try to reach out to me in a timely manner nor did you attempt to remedy the situation in a way that would bring satisfaction to your customer. Furthermore, in this day of cell phones, instant messaging and GPS there is really no reason that this situation should have ended any other way that my furniture arriving at my home today.
Yes, I had a window but I was also assured on more than one occasion that I would get that call 30 minutes prior to delivery. Your driver should have made the call that I was assured he would make. You, as the manager, should have been available to manage and provide support and customer service. Read moreWe were delighted with the selection and very friendly sales associate named Michelle at the Gainesville, GA Rooms to Go store. She's the best!!! We were shocked about the new delivery cost being by the room instead of number of deliveries! We paid over $300 delivery cost for a dining room table, 4 chairs, 2 stools, kids bedroom set, and a sofa to ask be delivered at one time. I MUST SAY IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! The crew was 3 men and they were the most respectful, knowledgeable men we've ever hired for ANY type of work or delivery!! They even threw down giant cover pads on the floor bc it was raining outside. Though they all spoke Spanish, the lead tech spoke perfect English. There was NO muttering or laughing too one another in Spanish where we couldn't understand it feel uncomfortable. That's a HUGE HUGE GOLD STAR IN MY BOOK! I could've never gotten all the furniture unpackaged and put together myself, PLUS they showed us how to use the hidden table leaf and my daughter's tween furniture plugs for her speakers and light! They truly took honor in their hard work and we're so humble and happy with our praises. They arrived exactly on time from when the texted the night before and the morning of delivery. Don't bawk at the delivery price bc trust me, it's so worth it. The furniture is just fantastic. Been shopping with them for 20 years and will continue to do so. Michelle helped us pick out the closest comparable mattress to the one we'd purchased a few years ago for our daughter, since it wasn't made in a full size. It arrived and she was SPOT ON! Michelle even stayed way past closing time to wait on us as we conversed via text message with our autistic daughter at home to be sure we secured the bedroom suit she most wanted. We purchased the set in August 2020 & were told we could set the delivery schedule since it’s a second home. Delivery was delayed several times due to COVID & we were told it would now be December before we’d get the furniture. Frustrated, I looked online at RTG on Monday, found a set we liked, called the store and spoke with Lakeata, the store manager and told her my situation. We wanted the furniture for Thanksgiving, but we’re only going to be in town until that Saturday...was delivery possible? She confirmed they had the set we were interested in and asked if I could come to the store to make sure the set was what we wanted and if so, purchase it. In the meantime she looked at delivery options (our cabin was 1-1/2 hours away). RTG couldn’t deliver in the short window of time, but she asked if we’d be interested in an independent contract driver to expedite delivery, but told me they set their own price...I said yes. By the time I arrived at the store that day, she had given me the contact number and quote from the driver who said the furniture could be delivered Wednesday... yes, two days after we purchased it! Lakeata followed up with us and made the purchase and delivery seamless. We still can’t believe how easy it was! We’re so happy Lakeata answered the phone that day.
