We got there right as the place opened for dinner and were politely greeted. We were seated in a corner booth that was intimate and in a nice little spot for a date, but the table had chunks taken out of it. It was a bit off putting for me not to be able to look around too, but I’m sure if I’d asked they’d have moved us. The table being messed up wasn’t a great impression, though. We were given ice water. We ordered the Spring Roll & Tom Kha bowl as appetizers. The spring rolls came in a set of 2 & were the same basic generic spring rolls you’d get at many other restaurants- they were quite good. The soup was tasty and made me feel warm & toasty inside.

Masaman Curry is my favorite Thai dish and I try it everywhere I go to eat this kind of food. This one was a winner- the sauce was thicker than I’ve ever had it anywhere. This dish came with a first on the side for me (avocado) and the coconut milk base curry was sweet and mild with a hint of peanut flavor. In it was mixed potatoes, carrot and cashew nuts; I opted for tofu as well. My only regret is that I wish there had been more. It came with a heaping side of rice. We got the Spicy Basil mild, and the stir fry came our tasting of a grill, mixed with onions, basil leaves, bamboo and sautéed mixed vegetables. I didn’t realize it wouldn’t have any kind of sauce. I asked about it and they advised it comes dry. I hinted at wanting some sort of sauce on the side to my date but he said we have sauce at home and so this dish is waiting in the fridge to be doctored up and eaten (we were full after sharing the other things).

There was Halloween candy at the front of the store. They charged a card fee, which I wish they’d told me about in advance. I didn’t use the restroom there so I can’t attest to that. The service was adequate and they were very nice, but nothing wowed me. The table being all chunked up was kind of yuck too.

Either way I would definitely eat there again- there’s not really any other options for Thai in Gainesville except one other spot with hours I never seem to make. Also the Masaman was really great. I spent a little over $40 which is decent. It was a truly...

Eat at Thai is one of my all time favorites. I come back all the time and will continue to return.

I normally order Pad Thai in one of their meat choices (beef, shrimp or chicken). I prefer medium spicy, but you can get it mild or hot.

Other times, I get the Massaman curry in beef or chicken.

The coconut soup gives a punch of sour and creaminess. The spring rolls are also a favorite, but they are small, so I like to order an extra order.

Speed of service: 4 stars (only because they’re normally busy, but if you place your order as soon as you sit, your food (entree) will be out in about 15 mins or less. Soup and appetizers are out, typically within 5 mins.) I normally go for lunch, and at the most, I’ve had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a table.

Friendliness of service: 4.5 stars (Servers are genuinely kind and respectful, but don’t expect a high optimistic attitude 24/7) They always refill our water and check on us.

Food: 5 stars The food is always hot and full of flavor. They’ve also been pretty consistent with the recipes. The portions are medium-sized, and I would say that its price is worth its portion.

The only downfall is that sometimes they take vacations (just like anyone else) and you won’t know until you’ve reached the restaurant with a sign informing you. I recommend to call first to double-check the hours of operations, if you live far like me.

Also, this restaurant is small, so I would not recommend parties of more than 6 to come without reservations or giving them a heads up. Expect to...

Food is Five Stars but customer service 2. If your lucky enough to catch them open you’ll love the food. I’ve noticed lately customer service is very poor and sometimes they are just rude. Seems like they are very busy so they take it out on customers. That’s bad because customers are the ones that keep you in business. Excuse me for giving you money. Don’t bother calling in to place an order because they just let the phone ring and ring. I tested this when I was inside the restaurant. I’d been calling for an hour and no one answered. When I got to the restaurant I tried calling just to see if the phone number was wrong or broke. But as soon as I called the phone rang rang rang & they never answered. 30 min wait for take out. If they’d answered the phone I wouldn’t be sitting here 30 minutes. Also, closes at 830 pm but they turned off open light and flip sign to closed at 815 pm. Guessing they really...

This place is wonderful. If I lived closer, I would eat there 3 or 4 times a week. One warning, their Thai hot is not what you would typically get at a typical American Thai restaurant. It's really hot. If you like spicy food, try medium spicy the first time. If you're a crazy like me, go for it. Great place to eat, great people. Photo attached is Thai hot basil noodle with chicken, my favorite!

This is the best Thai food I have ever eaten! We always come here for our date nights and always leave saying that it's the best meal ever! I would highly recommend this place. Suits couples on a date or families wanting a really great Thai meal. The yellow chicken curry and the beef pad-see-ew are 10/10. I feel like my photos don't do it justice. The flavour is just incredible.
