Very grateful for this place. The owner and the people who work here are seriously just so wonderful! They have outside covered seating as well as communal tables inside. The music is always fun and sets the atmosphere. They also offer classes and have an apothecary section. My favorite part is the fact that this business runs as a safe haven for those looking for consistently good food. My partner and i go here nearly every week and we always leave feeling so good. We love all the vegan/dietary options! You also can’t beat the prices. Today we got 4 separate dishes and 2 coffees and only spent $22. These are the types of businesses that need our support, especially considering the state of this changing climate. This zero waste market is ahead of its time.. it’s so important to support a sustainable business that proves it cares. There’s truly not one negative thing I could say about this place. It’s a blessing and I think everyone should become a regular here!

Thank you Roots for all the love you pour out into this community! You are...

Went to the Wondersmith community event here and the event is going on all month. I was having a bad week and felt drained and I almost didn't go.

Coming here to write what I was grateful for, what I wanted to get rid of, what I appreciated about the past, and what I want for my future. It turned my mood around!

Also, the cake that was made by Miss Wondersmith made me extremely happy. There was saffron in it and I've never had saffron before and as I was driving home I had so much gratitude and I felt happiness I haven't felt in a long time and it was like I could see color again! I then was like why am I so over the top happy? I then googled does saffron make you happy? And it does!! It boosts serotonin! I need to invest in saffron 🤣 I am so glad I went to this event and even to meet new people! I plan on going again for the close of the event.

The store has locally grown produce and products. It has many more things. It's a very cool store! Really...

I absolutely love going here! I've been following a zero waste lifestyle for years, and it's nice to have a bulk place that also follows that goal. It's unfortunately out of the way for me, so I come here when I have a few things I need to stock up on.

The cafe is a little on the pricier side, but everything that's vegan is super yummy. The Green Goddess sandwich is nice, light, and delicious, and the Tempeh Ruben is absolutely wonderful. Their salad/slaw on the side as well is wonderful, flavorful and not overpowering by any one thing. Their carrot cake muffin was a bit dry for me, but their scones are amazing!

Their produce is always fresh and flavorful, and I love that everything is without plastic packaging. Having said that, not everyone can afford the prices, especially with our current economy.

This place will definitely be a regular...

Roots Market is my absolute favorite place to go in the Boise area. Organic and sustainable, with a multitude of zero-waste foods and home goods. The café presents a wide array of options, from house-made sandwiches, pastries, and sides, to delicious beverages. My go-tos are green juice, iced breves, green goddess sandwiches, and beet salad! The grocery section offers local fruits, veggies, and mushrooms, as well as a bulk pantry—which means customers have a chance to try new foods in small qualities if desired. Local flower bouquets and artwork are also available. Staff members are helpful, kind, and personable. At Roots, you can support a local business and nourish your body with wholesome foods!
