Home dryer (Duet Sport) died last night just as starting a load, it made a loud humming noise. Downloaded manual and tested resistance of motor windings to discover higher than normal resistance. So called in the part number to OCAP and a new motor was in stock. This is a pro place so I was happy to find they put up with home owner. Walked out with my new motor. Got home to drop it in and discovered the blower wheel would not come off the shaft of the old motor. So called up OCAP again to find the blower wheel in stock. So glad we are just 3 miles away. With new blower wheel in hand I headed home to compete this project, only to find upon final assembly the dryer still did not work. I disassemble all again and verified all items. Did another search and found that when the motor fails it takes out a trace on the controller circuit board. Popped open the controller to discover a burned out trace on one of the relay poles. Made a quick repair of the PCB . However, when pulling out one of the Stacon terminals I broke a wire. So off to OCAP just before closing. Got home crimped on new terminal connector and reassembled the whole dryer. Wife and I stood back and together pressed the START button only to hear the sweet sound of the dryer starting up!
Thanks OCAP for you help. Great customer service. Corrected internet found part numbers to current manufacture part numbers. Checked stock physical to assure it was there when I arrived. Helped out a non-account cash sale just like an account. Answered the phone each time with limited delay.

Read moreI have only had positive experiences here and have been buying parts for the last several years. If price is your concern, then you may be relieved to learn that the part pricing here is lower than other brick and mortar stores that sell the same exact items. I recommend this place mostly for apartment owners, appliance techs, handymans, and small general contractors who do a lot of apartment maintenance/remodels.
If you prefer buying parts online from other vendors, then be prepared to deal with buying the wrong part, incorrect part descriptions, high shipping costs added to part costs, and long shipping times (even if you pay $50-$100 to overnight).
I would rather not waste my time and buy here with confidence and from people whom I can develop a good rapport with, rather than try to pinch a couple of pennies and waste my time.
I can guarantee you that most people who shop here are looking to buy the right part they need and they need it now, not later.
If you have lots of time to waste and need to save a penny then go for it and try to find the right part online. I have found parts online before, but I try to avoid it as it's a giant time sinker. I and most people have better things to do than trawling the interwebs and giving random websites our financial info.
Thank you OCAP for being reliable all...
Read moreI always try to buy from local stores and gladly pay a bit more to support brick n mortars... BUT, it's hard to keep going when the item cost is double or higher in many cases. I purchased an electrical part that costs between 10 and 20 dollars online, but here? FORTY. Add to that, 45 minutes round trip (my fault rush hour on the 22). Five guys at the counter and it took 10 (or more) minutes to get helped, Again I try to understand and accept the differences between walk in and online sales, but, ...it needs to make sense. Also? If this electric-based item don't work (or won't solve my particular problem), I CANNOT return it. They won't accept returns on a perfectly good item. W an online purchase, I CAN return it. Thus, my investment in THIS locally operated n owned business is quite high all things being equal and the risk? Yup, it's ALL ON ME. Lovely.
Nail in the Coffin... Also?, it took at least 5 minutes before ANYONE of the 5 guys even acknowledged me. Maybe they are simply not needing the business. I guess that's okay too...
It may be time for me to throw in the towel on my personal commitment to the community and accept that most small stuff is be best...
