We have enjoyed 2 fun concerts at the Garden Amp. I'm new to this area and really love the small cozy feel, it's a great venue and we have a lot of fun making new friends. But at the Journey concert on June 21, my husband and I got customer service that was ugly and unacceptable.
My husband was very generous and spent close to $300 on food and drinks, PLUS generous tipping! not only for us, but he bought for new friends we met who sat next to us, he even bought me a $5 bracelet FFS! and we were all dancing, having a ball, laughing and happy.
My husband ordered TWO double shots of tequila, and then another, with margaritas and beer flowing. All the food and drinks we ordered were at the bars near the entrance, NOT near the stage. We had front row seats and the arena was very hot since you offer no shade (that's another issue/suggestion--with all the money you gouge, you could easily put up some kind of overhead protection from the sun). But whatever, my point is, after a couple sips, we went dancing and came back to our mostly full drinks but the ice had melted. So I took both my husband's $30 double shot AND my $16 margarita and walked up to the little bar to the right of the stage by the Men's bathroom. No problemo, she filled both drinks up with more ice, thank you, goodbye, NEXT.. This isn't rocket science, people.
Fast forward maybe one hour and we bought another set of the exact same drinks and again we were having so much fun dancing our butts off, our full drinks ice melted again. We were sitting in the middle (front row) and it was the same distance to both bars, so this time I went to the left bar near the women's restrooms because no line and asked for ice. The Latino looking black haired gal looked at me funny (no smile) with an attitude and I saw her eyes divert to the 3 drunk Asian girls who came up next to me and had their credit card wanting drinks, so she took them BEFORE me. She clearly heard me ask for ice that would have taken her all of 3 seconds. I didn't say a word because I didn't want to make a scene, after all, we're HAPPY drunks, but as luck would have it, the credit card reader stopped working and the gals were digging for another credit card, that one didn't work either because it was the card reader, not their cards. So Miss Personality changes machines and the girls move past me to the other side of the bar, starting all over, ringing them up. I'm still standing there patiently, for 10-15 min at least! her KNOWING I wanted ice. So finally they leave and I asked for ice WITH the 2 drinks on the counter and she snaps "Nope, sorry, you've got to purchase a $4 dollar water for me to give you ice". I said "Excuse me? we paid close to $300 on food and drinks and you're going to charge me for ice???" It's not like I came up to her bar with no cups and wanted just ice, I had 2 full drinks from your venue! This woman was so rude and nasty, she could have just told me that instead of making me wait for the Asian girls but she was purposely being mean. I asked her name but couldn't hear her with the loud music so I took her picture and she hid from the camera, too chicken to show her face, but I did it so you could identify her. This bt* needs to go, just AWFUL and totally ruined the fun vibe, just KILLED IT.
When I got back to our seats with no ice, my husband was so p!ssed he went back to the "nice" bartender on the men's side and again she accommodated us, as well she should. Please don't turn into an a-hole greed machine and train your employees to be respectful and professional. This woman is in the wrong business, ZERO personality, rude and nasty. If you have cameras, I invite you to watch the exact...
Read moreMy first experience at Garden Amp was the worst! I bought 4 tickets for my aunt and uncle and my partner and myself. I read on the website that it was general seating so I showed up early waited in line. When I got to the door I explained that my aunt and uncle were older adults and would need a seat and asked about accomodating them with a handicap spot. No one was able to assit me or assure me that there would be a seat for them. and when I got inside there were no seats and nowhere to stand. People were already standing on the stairways, which is not safe. When I tried to ask for help I was told that there were no seats in the ADA or anywhere. The show must have oversold. I was told that general seating meant that there was no guaranteed seats. My impression was that "general seating" meant that you could end sitting in front or the middle or in the back. I never would have brought my older aunt and uncle to a show that they would not get a seat with the purchase of their tix. Before coming to the show I looked at the website and read that there were over 500 seats and so did not worry. I even tried to call, email and message the venue two weeks before coming to the show to find out more about the seating or accommodations for my older family members. I got no response from anyone regarding my inquiry. I actually found two spots in the very back at the very top on a padded bench which I tried to save for my aunt and uncle. When the headliner band was just starting to play staff came and told me that I was in a VIP section and that I had to move. I had also already spent $80 on food and merchandise by that time. I tried to tell the staff my situation about finding the seats for my aunt and uncle. They forced me to move. Other people I had talked to said they also tried to call or find out in advance about their senior family members and accomodating them. They also shared that they hadn't received and communication or information about the seating and lack of seating. So because there were no places to sit or stand we simply asked for a refund. I had to wait quite a while for the GM to approve a refund. At first after waiting like 15 minutes in the cold I was told that I would get a half refund for only 2 tix! I was so upset. Me, my aunt, uncle and partner had to stand there and argue in the order for the GM to finally agree to a full refund. So now I'm looking at my bank account and there is no refund?? This was our first time to the garden amp, we are orange county natives. My uncle's band has played for many years down the street at the local car shows. I have been following La Santa Cecelia for years too. LSC has always been a family friendly show and a place where you bring your whole family young and old. I was very displeased and dissapointed about the entire experience. I attempted to plan an experience for my family to enjoy and instead ended up spending money on food etc and tix, then had to fight and argue with staff and GM to simply get my money back. Now there is nothing showing in my account. I doubt that I would recommend the Garden amp to anyone and I'm very dissapointed. I was hoping to become a frequent concert attendee. But I doubt...
Read moreI purchased 3 tickets at noon the day of yesterdays event 6/16 concert. When we arrived there was too many people. You guys over sold this venue and should have had the tickets as sold out. You were over capacity. We have a disabled veteran and you have no designated area for disabled. There is only one handicap in your tiny parking lot
I have been in touch with one other person who attended the event and they left after Led Zeppelin performed because they had the same problem overcrowding to the point where standing room only wasn’t even working out. One of their friends did stay and they reported Aerosmith never even performed so that’s another complaint. a huge failure and disappointment that the Band didn’t even perform that you guys Publicizing. And there was no explanation to the audience for it either
We couldn’t stay because there literally was barely any standing room. I want a full refund. This was a terrible experience. You should never allow this many people in your venue. It’s dangerous and I believe out if compliance. I spoke To the employees there and they agree, they couldn’t believe how overcapacitated the amount of people were there. They told me to go to the box office for a refund, but the box office wasn’t available which is now forcing me to email for a refund. i have contacted via email for a...
