Not a lot of crab. Seems over-crabbed and over-clammed! Also, saw bunch of people not adhering to Oregon regulations. One couple had 6 traps between 2 of them and left traps unattended. In fact, TONS of unattended traps! No one was measuring crabs n I definitely saw people keeping crabs that were under regulation which was sad to see. Beautiful ocean view with awesome wildlife though. Definitely chkout the historical boathouse while there, great guys that share some really cool history & stories on the place! Can't recommend this pier for crabbing or clamming though. We only caught 3 crabs here and a handful of clams...only small itty bitty baby clams.

The dock is a narrow walk way with sections every twenty feet to throw your crabs pots over. It was very crowded the day I went around 4pm. I was lucky enough to find a spot but it was closer to shore since the rest of the dock out farther was packed. After four hours and a thick fog that rolled in, I managed to get 2 dungeness that I could keep. The walk from the parking lot isn't far and there's a choice of a wheelchair ramp or stairs to get to the dock.

Learned about clamming here. Interesting and lucky to have stopped with a very low tide to watch people picking up clams and putting them in a bucket. I learned you can boil the clams and eat them. It would be fun to try one.

Very convenient. Has chain link fence on both sides so my puppy (or your kids) can't fall off. Crabbing is hit or miss, but that's fishing. If you use a crab ring and use a salmon head as bait it likely won't last half an hour but the sea lions will appreciate you. The deck gets very slippery. I strap on those studs designed for walking on ice whenever I go out and they really help. People tell me you are only allowed to hang traps in one side as there are electrical lines on the other, and it's posted, but I've yet to find the actual...
