I have only tried the jalapeno poppers, and they were quite good, I am not sure if they came from a frozen box, but if so, it is from a high-quality source, and if they are homemade, that would be believable. I just wouldn't expect that from a bar. Everything there is fairly expensive but not astronomically pricey. I had a handful of shots over the evening, and the poppers and spent just under fifty before tip. But the big selling point is that the service is excellent and the atmosphere is somehow even better! The bartenders are festive (this is the Halloween season, and they dressed in a subdued spookiness-not costumes, but low-key goth for the most part) and the decorations are outstanding. They went all-out for Halloween, and have a costume contest coming up ON Halloween Night! Very cool! One of the bartenders did the decorations inside and on their expansive back patio, a great place to hang. Their Friday and Saturday karaoke is excellent as well; the DJ, Ann, always puts the newcomers up next or very soon, to make sure they have a chance to get in at least one song. I dig that a lot. She has a wide range of music available, and the whole bar cheers and claps for each performance, whether they are really good, like many were, or fairly flat, like my singing is. It makes it so easy to get up and belt out a tune, knowing that there's only honest encouragement, and not judgement to be found. I recommend it highly!
Sad note: Due to some sort of state or federal regulations, they were not able to let me share the gelatos that I brought for the occasion; I'm from a small town where such things didn't exist-gelato, or regulations, and it has a more potluck mentality, and it was kind of disappointing to not be able to share. I know there's rules, but the worst part is that there's no dessert selection on their menu, so there is nothing to have in its places. C'est la vie, I suppose, but minus a star from the food for no...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI always go here when I'm in town. I get the crispy chicken salad x2 to go. Normally it is amazing. Not sure what was wrong this time. But I don't think I'll go out of my way for awhile to get the chicken salads. Unless the menu has changed, it comes with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, chiken and cheese with 4 oz. If salad dressing. Also a slice of garlic toast. Also, ordering to go; would include forks and napkins. I recieved hardly chopped lettuce, small amount of tomatoes, 2oz of dressing and chicken with barely enough cheese to see.(if lettuce was prepared correctly-enough for another salad) I ordered a side of garlic toast. In a container I recieved 3 uncut slices of toast. (Which I returned due to facial hair in butter spread) No napkins and no forks. I did get new garlic bread and napkins and forks when I drove back and asked. With tip this cost me $26.00. I will add that this visit is the olny bad experience I have had in 20 yrs. I guess it was just a bad night or a new employee. Otherwise the food is the best...
