First time coming to these nickelrama we had been going to the other place and both are great for the kids, These one it's bigger so there's more space to walk more machine's too and more fun for all, they have the tables for party's too not sure if you have to pay for it like the other places but you do need to reserve it and there's I think there's limited time not sure about any if these but I do know that you'll bring your own food like pizza and drinks and the cake But if you're interested in having a party here just call and have them tell you the right info they're very friendly. And yes it's a great place to have fun not just the kids but all of us too, everyone pays at the entrance big and small I think it's about $5 per person and you can buy your nickels here or bring your own one's or just exchange it here and yes all the machines and arcades all everything here takes 5cents (just nickels) but all games are different prices from 4-7 nickels so they're very very very very cheap and lot's and lots of fun for all ages. I hope we come back...
Read moreGreat arcade for families and kids, but they've got plenty of entertainment for parents and older crowds too... I'm talking pinball. From what I've seen, NickelRama has the best, most affordable public collection of pinball machines in the DFW metroplex. They have 7 machines which they maintain very well, in my experience they are almost always working and when something breaks it's fixed within a day or two.
The machines as of the time of this post are AC/DC, Avatar, Tron, Spider-Man, Batman (Dark Knight), Indiana Jones, and Transformers.
I really just go here for the pinball, preferably on weekdays because there are less kids there. But it really is a great place all around, they have tons of newer racing games, shooting games, and ticket games.
With only a $3 cover charge to get in and all the machines taking Nickels, you'll get tired of playing long before you run...
Read moreWell I'm not thrilled that the prize counter closes a half hour before the arcade. I honestly can't think of any other arcade that I have been to that does that. Also they close the arcade a few minutes early. I was surprised to see that they will just cut power to the games so if the game owed you tickets.. well too bad. They do give warning to that but it seems like they are just in a rush to kick you out.
Also the prizes are pretty weak. But I guess as long as it keeps kids happy then whatever right?
Ticket payout per coin (ticket value) is below average vs other arcades and yes that includes factoring in the difference in game pricing.
The only good thing I can say about the place is it is in fact quite cheap. Yeah some games are 5-6 nickels but if you went to other arcades you are going to pay a few bucks for just one play on...
