If you're looking for a family friendly place with great food (fresh, sushi plated beautifully, and hibachi experience very entertaining) at a reasonable price and outstanding customer service, this is the place to go. A couple that sat at the grill with our family frequents this place and it was our first time. He ordered a wasabi/mayo mix that the owner made especially for him on one of their visits. His wife requested some surachi sauce. We asked to try both. Outstanding!!!!! I love finding and supporting family owned places and this is WELL worth supporting. We live 30 minutes north and I was looking for a new hibachi place that also serves sushi for my daughter's 25th birthday. Looking at all of the reviews, we chose (and risked) trying this place. We could not have been happier. And learning that the birthday girl got dinner and a dessert for free (needed to present ID to verify it was really her birthday) was an unexpected bonus. They are located in Garland (major streets N Garland on Beltline). We started with two sushi selections for an appetizer (Sweet Heart and Volcano) not because we thought we might need more food but because we love sushi. It was creatively made and very good. My husband is not a sushi fan but did enjoy the Sweet Heart. My husband and I had the hibachi dinner for two. My daughter had the shrimp hibachi dinner and her boyfriend had the filet and chicken hibachi dinner. Soup was really nice, salad was fresh and the ginger dressing was great. Dinner was good too (and a lot of food - but nice to have leftovers for lunch the next day!). My daughter was given a dessert with a candle and we sang Happy Birthday (as did a number of other people in the restaurant - like I said, family friendly and fun). Alan was our chef and was fun and entertaining. Lesson learned - don't wear a sweater even if you get cold in most restaurants - you won't next to the grill. Also, I had never tried Plum wine and I asked if I could try just a little sip. They were so sweet and brought me a small sample. It really was the perfect night. When my grand kids come in town, I'll be bringing them -- but I'll also make the trip on my own again. ...
Read moreMy wife and I decided we wanted to go out somewhere exciting and special for our anniversary dinner. When we arrived the hostess was rude and told us it would be a 10-15 wait for a hibachi grill. Then she proceeded to seat another party and ended up coming over to tell us that it would be a 30 min wait instead. When we were finally seated a whole 45 min later my wife and I were the only people at the grill and decided to move down some seats so we could be right in front of the cook instead of at the very corner, again we were the only people sitting at that grill. The hostess then came over with a very bothered and rude attitude and told us that if another party came over we were going to have to move seats. While looking through the menu I had various questions about menu items for the server and every time he just replied with “I don’t know” never taking initiative to go find out for us. At one point when asked about salad dressings he said all they had was “some weird sauce”. Eventually the cook came out and we were still the only two people at the grill. He was very friendly but also was in a very obvious rush to cook our food and didn’t give us much of a show at all. He told us that he was going to cook our food very fast because he had to go cook for another table, understandable, but still not right in my eyes. When we finally had all of our food served we ate slowly and even paused half way through our meal because we were still waiting on our two sushi rolls that we were actually very excited to try out. They never showed up and when we asked the server about it he had a very poor attitude and said he’d just forgotten to place the order for the rolls. Over all we were very disappointed displeased and let down with our nearly $80 anniversary dinner. I don’t think we’ll ever be returning and will definitely start going to the hibachi grill in...
Read moreCame for the first time here yesterday around 7pm for a friend's 30th Birthday (party of 14-15ish). He and his partner come here alot and therefore wanted to celebrate here. My partner and I were excited since it has been a while since we have ate a hibachi. The inside of the restaurant has a nice ambience and of course it also serves other dishes such as sushi. Service was quick and friendly, our server was a young early 20s female with blonde hair. She was very accommodating and was able to recommend me a sushi (cooked) plate suitable for a pregnant person like myself. It was delicious and I was so glad I was able to eat it after not having ate sushi for almost 9 months. Drinks were always being filled and plates being cleared out when needed to be. Then the chefs (one asian, one hispanic) came and they were both fantastic with great sense of humor and really entertaining presentations while cooking the food! On my side of the hibachi grill, Marco (the hispanic one) was the one cooking our food and it tasted phenomenal! From the veggies, to the noodles, steaks, scallops, all of it was seasoned to perfection! Our table had a great experience and to top it off our friend (birthday man) proposed to his partner and the restaurant gave them a dessert as a congratulations! Definitely loved my first time here and will be coming back. I'm turning 30...
