We rented the pavilion for my son’s graduation party, and although the park was secluded enough for a private event, it is clearly one of the neglected parks in DeKalb county as there was no restroom nearby, the picnic tables provided (2) were disfigured due to previous usage that looked like someone started a fire or burned something on them. For reference Blacklick park among many others have pavilions in DeKalb that have several tables. There is no power source like other parks with pavilions so keep that in mind if you intend on amplifying music (which is an additional fee). We had to clean the pavilion that we paid for before using it, and when I mean clean we had to go home and get our shovels and brooms to remove mounds of dirt all over the pavilion and surrounding area. Even after cleaning it with a team of people it looked like a construction site but it was better than when we 1st arrived. I’d like to think that if you are paying to use county property, someone would be responsible for checking the area beforehand and making sure it was at least in decent...

This could be a nice park but unfortunately there are lots of obnoxious dog owners. The several times I've been, dogs are off leash and owners are not paying attention to what their dogs are doing. Dogs have approached me, my leashed dog and children causing problems. The signs clearly state all pets must be restrained by leash. Unfortunately this is not a good park for children who are timid of dogs or for responsible dog owners. It's clear volunteers have worked hard to make this a nice park, but obnoxious dog owners have ruined the experience for many. This is not a dog park so follow the County ordinance and leash your dogs. For those wanting their dogs off leash, go to a dog park and stop ruining this beautiful park. Sad we have moved from a society of we into a...

This park is hard to find without using Google Maps or noticing road signs leading to it. It has one general picnic pavilion with a water fountain next to a playground. There is also 2 tennis courts and a basketball court. The biggest attraction here though is its trail system. There are 6 color coded trails which go through a beautiful scenic wooded area. It’s best to go through here during the Spring and Summer seasons as during the Fall season, leaves would cover the trail and trail markers are trickier to locate. This is also a dog friendly park. Just make sure to have them on a leash as the park is really big and it can be easy to get lost without a map which you can take a picture of before adventuring...

What a gem of a park with something for everyone and great attention to improving forest health and habitat. We were pleasantly surprised to find the well-marked and maintained network of trails on the northern end of this park, with ample parking and new infrastructure for the sport/playground/picnic facilities and the south end. Thanks to the work of the Georgia Native Plant Society, the forest is relatively free of invasives and the spring ephemerals were quite evident at the end of March when we visited.

This park has beautiful, huge, old trees, mostly beech and oak, growing thickly enough to surround you with green in the summer. The paths are heavily shaded and mostly not too steep for the average person. Accessibility: the picnic benches and playground are wheelchair accessible but the paths are definitely not.
