Colair Beauty Lounge & Med Spa — Attraction in Gilbert

I’m extremely conflicted about this review bec the service at Colair is very good. They have the front end customer service piece totally dialed in. BUT I booked a full highlight and cut, during the consultation I was told that my hair is so damaged she didn’t want to color me. I get my hair done every 90 days and have never been told this before. Now I’m not doubting that I had some dry ends after 15 years of highlights but I maintain my hair. I showed her a pic of what my goal was and told her I knew it would take time to get there but let’s start the foundation. She was so kind and sweet but seemed very nervous. She agreed to give me a couple of highlights in the front but that was it. She said you need a toner and conditioner. I kept saying “when can I get my hair done?, I need my hair done.” She said 5/6 weeks. Now if my hair is THAT damaged, what is 5 weeks? It didn’t make sense to me. I could tell she was nervous and that made me nervous so I just said fine, I would rather leave and not have a complete service than her screw up my hair. She put a conditioner on me and left me alone for what seemed like 30 minutes. Never once trying to get to know me or my style. Then went through the same process for my front highlights and toner. Out of the 3 hours i was there I spent 90 minutes totally alone. How do you get to know a new client if you don’t speak to them? After she pulled the toner off my hair it now had a purple tone to it. I asked her and she claimed it was the lightning. Nope, it’s purple. The cut she gave me is excellent. The color is incomplete and incorrect. I think she is a lovely girl but she needs more training. The total cost for 8 foils, toner, conditioner and cut $160 (plus $32 gratuity) This place is beautiful, sparkling clean and inviting. Just need the young stylist trained dialed in a bit more. If the stylist has questions they need to collaborate with a manager or a more seasoned stylist so that the client...

I also have to give a huge shoutout to Gretchen, the ringleader of the hair artists. She fosters such a supportive, tight-knit environment, and you can feel the mentorship and passion she pours into her team. Gretchen always puts hair health first—even championing an hair care line designed to promote growth—and she’s a true wizard with both color and cut. Before her, my hair would only grow a little past my shoulders only. I’ve been trying to grow my hair out again for years and because of her expertise, it’s to my mid back in just a few months. I’m very particular about my hair, and it actually took me years to stop flying back to SoCal for appointments. Now, I can confidently say I’ve found my forever home for hair care here. Every visit with Gretchen leaves me not only loving my hair but also inspired by her story and energy.

When I moved to Gilbert almost two years ago, I was in need of a new hair salon that was closer to home. After some research, I found Colair. Based on a review I had come across, I decided to book an appointment with Neal... and he has been doing my hair ever since! As someone who is very low maintenance when it comes to my hair, I needed a stylist who listens to me, knows what they’re doing, and can just make me look good when I don’t even know what I want! Neal is exactly the stylist I needed and is fantastic at what he does! My hair was extremely unhealthy before Neal and now my hair is the healthiest it’s been in probably 5 years! I love my appointments with him!

Colair also offers other great services! I’ve had eyelash extensions done by Chantelle. She gave me exactly the look I wanted without making my eyelids feel so heavy. I was pregnant when I first got the eyelash extensions and she made sure I was comfortable during the long process. Chantelle also did my teeth whitening and my mother’s teeth whitening. We were both so happy with the results! She really does a wonderful job no matter the service! Rikae did my makeup and blowout before my maternity photos and I felt absolutely gorgeous!

Addison is always at the front desk to greet me and get me checked in and checked out. She’s very friendly and helpful! The owners, Dallas and Rich, are always nearby making sure everyone is comfortable and happy with the services they’re getting.
