Great bird watching place. For beginners the Merlin App will record and identity the calls of the birds. The acorn woodpecker and the nettles woodpecker are there. The acorn woodpeckers have a granary or "storage tree” by the baseball fields. I recommend the books 1) Secrets of the Oak Woodlands: Plants and Animals among California's Oaks by Kate Marianchild (Author), Ann Meyer Maglinte (Illustrator) great illustrations 2) Birding Guide to the Greater Pasadena Area by the Pasadena Audubon Society.

CV park is the most popular area to visit. Kids, family & dogs are perfect suitable to play active everyday. Of course the restroom is clean. The atmosphere is great! I’m getting a lot of exercise everyday walking on the trail. Just awesome. Highly recommend visiting there with your friends and family. (if you have a dog to play with) Cool air. Have fun anyway!

I love this Park. I walk here regularly, it is safe and large. My only complain, is that we "the community" recognized that we have many dog lovers in the area and wanted show how we embrace the need for a safe place for residents to take their pets. A very nice, large, dog park was built, which is well utilized. Yet, the trails are continuously used by dog owners who do not put their dogs on a leash, nor do the owners feel that it's their responsibility to pick up after their dog, or to actually carry the feces bag to a trash can. Once the city starts handing out citations and this problem is eliminated, the park will be perfect, and we can all fully enjoy the hundreds of huge oak trees. We also have a brand new skate park, baseball field. BBQ pits, clean restrooms, the park is a gem...

Likely my favorite park in the area. I didnt pull my board out to skate but the slate park here is well maintained and not too busy. I sat by the skating area and read a book. I was honestly surprised at the skill the skaters had. Back home you wouldn't see that kind of talent just hanging at the park. The trail here is nice and calm with beautiful trees providing nice shade to the path. The seating seemed to all have a good amount of shade and it was overall just a very pleasant experience. Glad out of the 3 or 4 parks I visited that this was one of them. Ideal for teens and adults. I don't recall a playground of any sort for children. If there is one I'd put 6 stars if I could. Great, safe, well...

This is the best park in the area, but it's been going downhill lately. There's an off-leash dog park, but people gave begun to take their dogs off-leash in the main park. The staff used to enforce the law and make people leash their dogs or leave, but they've stopped doing that. It's become common to see staff members walk right by groups of people with their dogs off-leash right in the middle of the park. It's become a dangerous situation, and not great for anyone that has a nervous or reactive dog.

Be prepared for some inconsiderate, entitled people, and be careful if you bring your dog. There's a good chance at least a few off-leash dogs will be...
