The Glendive Dinosaur & Fossil Museum is absolutely phenomenal! My family and I were blown away by the exhibits, the quality of the displays, and most importantly, the knowledge and kindness of the staff. They are not only well-trained in the science behind fossils and geology, but they are also patient, respectful, and eager to answer questions. You can tell they truly care about equipping visitors with truth and encouraging thoughtful discussion.
I noticed in some negative reviews that people mocked the museum for presenting a Biblical, creation-based worldview. Honestly, those reviews say more about the reviewers’ ignorance than about the museum itself. The critics claim this museum doesn’t deal with “facts,” but when pressed, they can’t even state one verifiable fact about evolution. Can anyone give me even one? So far, all I’ve ever heard are theories, assumptions, and constant revisions when new evidence doesn’t fit the evolutionary narrative. Meanwhile, the displays here are consistent, logical, and align with what we actually observe in the fossil record.
Another point that made me shake my head: some reviewers throw out insults like calling Christians “flat earthers.” That’s absurd. Neither the Bible nor faithful Christians teach flat-earth nonsense. In fact, Isaiah 40:22 refers to the circle of the earth long before modern science confirmed it. Serious Christians know this, and it’s sad that critics stoop to misrepresentations instead of engaging with the evidence.
Walking through this museum actually strengthened my faith. It gave me solid, tangible answers to the usual “evolution versus creation” arguments and reminded me that God’s Word stands firm in every generation. The exhibits are beautifully presented, family-friendly, and thought-provoking.
If you’re considering a visit, don’t let the negative reviews turn you away. The critics often rely on mockery rather than real science, and their attacks fall apart when you examine the evidence for yourself. This museum is not only worth your time, it’s an essential stop if you want to explore the world of dinosaurs through the lens of truth, reason, and...
Read moreA temple to delusions sadly, most of the staff get a sense of authority built on a house of cards from ignorance and unwillingness to do the hard work and accept a world were saying 'You're wrong, I'm right, end of story' doesn't work. The idea their take is equally valid and just looks at the evidence through a different lens is an appeal to look like an authority, not much more.
They present their side as equally valid as their opposition, yet have done none of the research, made no discoveries, nor presented anything that holds up to scrutiny. Prove them wrong, and they either ignore it or claim bias from a nebulous source. Quizzed the staff who approached me to speak and they know no more about the subject of dinosaurs you couldn't get out of a children's book. If your 'education' came from Jurassic Park, you'll learn something. If you know anything else, you'll be disappointed. You'd learn more in five minutes off Wikipedia. Young Earth Creationism is damaging to a kid's education in the way its presented and contrary to what some might claim, the museum is absolutely not approachable by non-Christians, nor Christians not willing to believe in a mass conspiracy to hide evidence by some nebulous group.
And I don't say this as an atheist, because a theology scholar, I did not find the scriptural parts stimulating and frankly worse than the Paleontology. Misquotes abound from both scripture and researchers. Staff completely stumped when I asked more than surface level questions about Behemoth and Leviathan that leave me thinking they didn't bother actually reading the Book of Job or checking their Hebrew.
Amateurs not even willing to do the homework whilst claiming others have it wrong. I don't mind being proven wrong. You learn best that way. But the presentations were a mass of condescending cliff-notes of them talking down to the audience, but were completely unwilling to play-ball when actually given a question they didn't get out of their script.
If you want to see pretty dioramas and pretty much ignore everything else, go. If you want an education, you'll get more...
Read moreGo in and throw out your respect for integrity in the Scientific process! . . .or go in and become agonizingly, tormentuously frustrated. We just visited the "Museum" on May 24th, 2013. The facility does have some interesting real content: bones, artifacts, replicas, (and large fakey, plasticy stuff : ( )...BUT the rest is a desperate attempt to convince the untrained mind with desperate ad hoc theories that support the creationist interpretations of the bible. The staff is there to walk you through their viewpoint and are defensive (and sometimes aggressive) if you challenge their thought process. The "evidence" is labelled in must believe terms that reflect very little humility for the great responsibility in interpreting evidence and findings. Bottom line...if you don't believe God did it; you're the likes of a ..."zealous evolutionist." All positive feedback is superficial and has no connection to disciplined, rigorous and founded understanding and thinking...everything that this "Museum" is not. Below it all is the suggestion that God is weirdly involved in pulling off miracle after miracle that defies science so, for example, Noah's Ark can ferry ALL of the world's animals -including all the dinosaurs (which walk to the ark from all continents), which somehow overcome specialized diets (koala, carnivores...), hibernating and defecating for a year THEN getting off the ark and undergoing massive speciation for 4000 years to become what they are today. So, God cares about supporting massive science defying acts in Noah's ark but doesn't lift a finger to address the massive agonies of humanity ("true" christians included) today. Blech. This is insulting and manipulative to adults, abusive to the minds...
