Hometown food at its best! This is an unassuming, smallish restaurant, attached to the Yellowstone River Inn on one side, and a bar/casino on the other. We arrived during the downside of the dinner rush. The place was really busy! First impression is that this is a place where locals enjoy a dinner out. Staff was interacting with customers like they are family. Customers interacting with others like friends/family. It’s “seat yourself”, so we dropped into the first booth we could find, a bit worried that we’d blend in and be missed. Despite the crowd, a server was quickly over with a friendly greeting to take our drink order. In the few minutes it took took to get drinks we had reviewed the menu and made our selections. I had the Linguine Alfredo with chicken. It came with a side salad. Many of the dressings are house made. I chose the Italian, which was very good. The Linguine was a generous portion, with lots of chunks of tender chicken breast. Lots of creamy sauce. Nice slice of garlic toast to go along. I was stuffed! My Wife had the Chicken Quesadilla. She said it was delicious. Filled with shredded chicken and cheese. Accompanied by chunky salsa and sour cream. She ate 3 of the 6 pieces and we took the rest as a road snack for tomorrow. All in all, service was great, food was excellent. It’s clear why...
Read moreI visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from the La Quinta hotel. Overall, my experience was about two-thirds positive.
I was very hungry and ordered the soup and steak, adding extra shrimp for an additional $8. The soup was quite good, and the steak, despite being surprisingly tender, was oddly difficult to cut with the provided knife—an unusual combination.
The mashed potatoes were standard. However, the major issue was with the shrimp. The first one had an off taste that made me question if it was just me. I tried a second one and confirmed it was not properly cooked and tasted unpleasant. I didn’t eat the third shrimp.
I let the server know, but there was no apology or acknowledgment—just the check. I waited for her to return, but she never did. I left the cash I had and quietly exited.
Disappointing handling of a simple concern, which unfortunately overshadowed the parts of the meal...
Read moreBeen here before on the same seasonal route, it would be a good little spot, one of the only restaurants in town, however we just came on a bad night. After asking four times for limes for a drink, I went to the bar myself to get them. After 10 minutes after receiving our food, we were still waiting for condiments/necessary items to eat the food. After waiting a good while for the limes, we actually missed our chance for another round at happy hour. At the end of the meal, the bartender/server said she could not fix the price of the Prime Rib that was priced as a special for the night at $23, because it’s not “her deal”. We insisted. The manager said he wasn’t able to do a thing because of the staff he was dealt, putting down the abilities of his bartender first. Shape up and be one of the best in town, it’s easy! Also, season your shrimp if you’re charging an extra $4 for a salad topper of 4...
