My wife and I stopped at this hotel after a long drive (over 12 hours). We were pleased when we pulled into the parking lot. This is a relatively new hotel. The lobby was clean as were the other public areas. We requested a pet friendly room since we had our fur baby with us. Surprisingly, the room was very clean. Most of the time, hotels have filthy pet rooms. Thank you to the HIE Glendive team for taking the time to keep the pet friendly rooms clean. We liked that the pet friendly room had laminate flooring. Our room was conveniently located as well. We would have liked if breakfast began a little earlier than 630am, as we wanted to get on road a little earler the next morning, but we delayed our departure until breakfast began. The breakfast was standard HIE fare...some pastries, cinnamon rolls, fruits, eggs, and meat. Just okay. Our primary disappoint was the staff working at the breakfast. We wanted to take our food to go, and there was sign stating they had to go boxes/bags. I had trouble getting the staff member's attention, and once I did get her attention, she told me they did not have to-go boxes/bags. Not sure why you have a sign if you're not going to have the items. However, I asked for plastic wrap, and she was willing to wrap our items in plastic wrap. This was a small issue and minor distraction, but it did delay our departure a bit. Time was important because we were on a 3,000 miles cross-country road trip. Otherwise, it was a very nice hotel. If we are in the Glendive area again, we'll stay at this hotel. I recommend it to anyone staying...
Read moreOne of the main reasons we picked this hotel was because it had a warm breakfast. My daughter had surgery at the hospital and we were required to stay in town overnight. Unfortunately their breakfast was out of stock of everything with an hour left for breakfast. No pancake batter in the pancake machine, no cinnamon rolls on the cinnamon roll warmer, no bagels or muffins in the bread container, no coffee, no sausage, out if syrup and butter, no scrambled eggs. I let the staff member know that there were no scrambled eggs and that my daughter had had surgery and it was the only thing that she could eat for breakfast. She said that they would take 15 minutes to cook and then they would be ready. 15 minutes later I checked back in with that staff member and she said that they had not started them yet. So my 5 ye old daughter and husband both did not get anything for breakfast and I only got a bowl of the only cereal left available (my husband doesnt like raisin bran).
The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable, and the pool was a great temperature. Overall we were happy with The hotel itself, just did not get to experience what was supposed to be a...
Read moreI read the other reviews and it definitely looks like my experience was an anomaly. But I had a horrible experience with the front desk person and the manager.
Put simply, my room wasn't ready when I arrived. I waited in the lobby and started noticing that other people were checking in and being allowed to check into their rooms. I tried to get attention of front desk person but he was 'too busy' and manager was no where to be found. So I called the 1-800 number for customer service. The person I talked to was very contrite, especially when she called the hotel and was a)put on hold and then forgotten about, and b) could not get a hold of the manager at all.
Eventually, the manager was available and got a hold of me. He had the gall to blame me for the incident saying that I should have contacted him instead of the national office. I replied that its not my job to do the duties of the front desk person and inform him that a Rewards Club member is waiting for his room.
So the manager gave me a room that was reserved for another customer who hadn't arrived but had been ready when I originally had been rebuffed.
I was thoroughly put off by the attitude of both the front desk clerk and the manager. (I will say that the night desk clerk was a joy and went out of her way to help, which is why I gave 2 stars instead...
