I was needing a quiet place to work for 2 hours and unfortunately this is not the place. They have a wonderful area on the 2nd floor designated for entrepreneurs and professionals. There are two chairs in the beginning of this space that a mother and 2 girls continued to speak in loud voices. The mother would shush the girls and then speak to them in a regular voice herself. I tried to quickly send the important time sensitive emails so I could leave asap. I stopped at the information counter right outside of the area and asked the following. Is this area reserved for entrepreneurs and business professionals as it states on the sign? The dark headed women with black cat-eye glasses said" you have to reserve that meeting space". My response "No, I am talking about the mother with the 2 girls sitting over there reading books, out loud at full volume. Cat Eye said ( in a much louder, unnecessary tone)" This is a public place and people are free to speak at whatever volume they wish!" I said "Really? Because I was raised that you speak quietly in a library as to not disturb others!" Cat Eye looked me in the eyes and shrugged her shoulders. My response "WOW!!!" and I walked away. I am so disheartened by the lack of respect and courtesy given to each other these days. It's hard to wrap my head around at times. I don't know which is worse, the oblivious mother or the self righteous library staff. I raised a daughter own my own. She loved the library as a kid. She also understood what it meant if I told her to speak in her library voice. I believe as a community, we...
Read moreThis library is truly a gem. It’s modern, clean, and beautifully designed — a real pleasure to spend time in, whether you’re browsing books, working on your laptop, or just enjoying a quiet moment. The layout is thoughtful, the furniture is comfortable, and the technology is up-to-date. It really feels like a space built for the community.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the collection of books, magazines, and other resources is excellent. It’s one of the nicest libraries I’ve been to.
That said, there’s one issue that keeps standing out: people bringing in their personal dogs. I want to be clear — real service dogs are, of course, absolutely welcome and important. But unfortunately, some people seem to bring in their regular pets and simply claim they’re service animals — and the staff, following policy, have to take their word for it. This means that untrained, everyday dogs end up in the library space, which isn’t fair to people with allergies, fears, or anyone expecting a clean, pet-free environment in a public reading space.
It’s a tricky situation because the library wants to stay welcoming and respectful, but I do hope they find a better way to handle this without impacting those who truly need...
Read moreI love this library. But now, it is becoming nothing but a daycare center. I have 4 girls myself. But I mean I think the design of this library is flawed. It should have been designed where the facilities for the kids was away from the patrons that are here to work, study, have business to take care of. The lobby (especially this time of the year) is taken over by crying babies, loud kids running all over the place and not enough staff to be able to handle the crowd. The second floor has a video game room which should be downstairs in its own hallway section. This is ridiculous. Long lines of patrons waiting for services because this is reading club month. It has very nice staff but they can only do so much. This design of this library was not thought out that well...
