Goodyear Recreation & Parks Office — Attraction in Goodyear

I had an unfortunate situation this morning at Goodyear community Park, where myself and many others were playing Pickleball. I motioned to the maintenance worker to stop blowing dirt and exhaust from his blower so close to the Pickleball courts. He ignored my request and continue to blow a bunch of dirt and exhaust in the air, which we were all smelling as we were trying to exercise. What was even more lame as an hour later as he drove by on his Cart and waved at me. Maybe this worker needs to be reminded that taxpayers are paying his salary and a simple request to please blow farther away from were people are exercising does not see too extreme. Furthermore, when I called the city Of Goodyear Parks and Recreation later that morning I got put on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected. When I tried to call back, my only option was to hear a recording. One last note, both workers that were using their gas blowers were wearing dust masks unfortunately we were not on the pickle...

We had our granddaughters one year birthday party at the park. We had a wonderful time I suggest that you rent one of the Cabanas and also pay the money for the liquor license so that you're not hassled and it goes to a good cause of people at the park there are several different Cabanas that you can rent some by the lake some not by the lake so you have to go and find out where your Cabana will be if you want to be near the water and that one near the water we had so many young kids at our party we chose not to be by the water because we did not want to have that shall we say excitement and we wanted the parents to be involved with the children and all the games we are playing as far as we had Horseshoes and badmiton and I, grandpa had some cool stuff and my daughter who is Mama of the birthday girl had some games for the children as well. Mixed feelings here. This park is awesome on first inspection. Huge fields, rec center, water park, huge playgrounds. BUT we also jokingly call this lawsuit park. Because it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. The 'big kids' playground is set up for someone to die. There is a huge tower with 3, very, very high slides. Two of the slides have no protection from falling. The third slide is covered but there is nothing to prevent kids from climbing up the outside. The tower has these random drop offs...just why.

Update, like I said it was waiting to happen. Little kid fell off one of the slides and broke his arm. Grandma was freaking out, luckily for some reason, the local firemen were...
