iGeek Repair and Gaming Center Plainfield — Attraction in Grand Rapids Charter Township

This will be my first ever Google review ever but I had to let others know how great John at Imperial Computer Solutions is.

I had a battery issue which caused my computer to crash. Initially, when I called on Friday at 2 I was told to drop it off Monday morning but when I informed John of my need to get my data off my computer for a work project he told me it was ok to drop it off that afternoon. I drove down there thinking I was only going to be dropping it off so it would get looked at first thing Monday but when I arrived John said he would take 10 minutes to try and figure it out. He ended up spending longer than 10 minutes on my issue and thankfully got my computer running temporarily without a battery so that I was able to attend to my work over the weekend. The new battery came in the following Tuesday and my computer is back and working like new.

I cannot say how much I appreciate the fact that John was willing and able to fix my computer the same day. It is not an understatement to say that he turned one of the worst days I have had in a few years into a much better day. It was a blessing to see that there are people out there that will take the extra time in their jobs to help someone and I cannot thank John enough.

I have used ICS on Plainfield to do my computer maintenance work on my business and home computers. John is a "whiz kid" to me on how much he knows about computers and how to fix glitches that happen. I was in today (8/3/23) with a couple issues and he took care of all of them at the front counter. He did not have to take it behind the counter this time to rip into the programming language of the browser or Microsoft products. He did not charge me anything for this service. I think that is good business sense. It keeps me coming back when I do have bigger issues.

He is fast and efficient and gives me good advice about possible updates, the best anti-virus software to use, and just routine things I can do to resolve some of my own issues.

A couple years ago he suggested I convert from the old spinning hard drive I had to new solid state drive. It cut my bootup time down from more than 5 minutes to about 30 seconds. What a huge boost in efficiency on my machine.

I cannot recommend Imperial enough for their swiftness, amazing customer service, and affordable pricing! Out of the blue, my hard drive failed. I assumed that I lost everything. After being recommended by a family member, I brought my laptop into Imperial to see if my hard drive was recoverable. John ran several tests, all for free, but things were not looking good. Instead of upcharging me for a new hard drive, he showed me where I could get a hard drive, knowing it would save me money, and gave me an in depth explanation of the hard drive he recommended. When I got the hard drive, and brought it in, he worked very speedily and efficiently, fixing my laptop in only a few days. On top of this, he was able to find a way to recover my failed hard drive and transfer them onto my new one. I am beyond impressed! Considering the amount of labor he put into fixing my laptop, the price I was charged was unbelievable, he saved me a lot of money and only charged me for a fraction of what his...
