This will literally be the next sporting goods store to shut it's doors in Grand Rapids Michigan(Hopefully sooner than later). I went there to purchase some socks and look at some glasses on 5.31.18 and there was only ONE person working in the whole entire store - and I even went in there during an extreme non-rush hour time frame, being at around 2PM in the afternoon. This poor kid(the only one working mind you) was left there to man the whole entire store by himself. Even know there was only about 5-6 people in there, due to lack of any kind of other(Adequate & Appropriate)staff, or even ONE other single worker for gosh sakes, this kid was trapped at the checkout, checking people out. He did not even have time to take a minute to open the "Glass Case". Everything in the store naturally, of course, was in disarray as well, once again, due to "Lack of one single other staff member/ worker in the store".
Unless you know what you need to get, and do not mind that everything has been fondled and is disorderly(I.E. - Clothes, shirts, pants, shorts, socks) stay as far away from this sporting goods store as possible(totally ghetto). As this will be nothing but a waste of time for you. It would actually serve you better and make more sense to just stay home and shop online. "Time is money" and this is literally, nothing but one big waste of time. And once again, even know it was far from being busy; it actually looked busy at the checkout, "ONLY" because of the extreme lack of staff. I ended up going next door(Nordstrom) and for $5 dollars cheaper was able to get all the service needed, and the socks that I went to "Dunhams" in the first place for. Dunham's sport is beyond being a joke at this time(nothing funny about it!). Dunham's, you are one of the reasons people like myself choose to stay at home and shop online rather than support shops and services within the local community they reside in. Dunham's, at this time, Please do the community a favor, and just shut your doors, and let a useful entity(hopefully a GOOD sporting Good Store), a business worthy of, that deserves to be in a position where they will earn the communities trust, and most of all, be there to earn their Business as well as their most precious Time.
I just wanted to point out one last thing regarding what "Jessica" stated as truth regarding the "return policy" and how they are most difficult to deal with after the purchase has been made and trying to make a return. This is exactly what a poor business does to make up for the lack of sales... They set forth the most difficult return policies because this place expects to only see you once after the traumatic...
Read moreWent to the store twice to purchase a gun and was not given prices, information, or a decent selection. I was told there is no way (online included) to view the full selection of weapons offered and he was unwilling to go beyond to answer my questions. If I wanted to find a gun I would have to drive from Dunhams store to Dunhams store to see the different choices. The second time I walked in went straight to the gun counter and know for a fact that the employee for the gun department was told not to go over and help us. Once we finally did get help and I got to see a gun it was brought to my attention that because I am in the process of renewing my license (even though it is not expired and I have the temporary permit) they would not sell me a gun until I have a more "legal" license. I find it funny that my license is accepted by the state and federal governments, the FBI for the background check, local and state police, and Dunhams is the only store that will not take a government issued fully...
Read moreWe went to buy shoes for our son and there were two ladies working in the shoe section. We found some shoes and wanted to get some in his size but neither one came to check or ask us if we needed assistance. The worst part was one looked right at us and kept walking. I then approached them and asked if we could get some help with sizing and got the impression that I was interrupting them. The younger lady went to check on sizing and came back with none in the size we were looking for and them just walked off and we had to approach them again to ask for another shoe size and again walked off when none in the size were available. This happened three times in total. I would have thought she would have asked if she could find anything else in his size.
The store was not busy and we were the only people in the shoe section.
If you need shoes and don’t need ANY assistance, then go as the prices were good. If you want ANY type of service, then I would...
