If you want to be even more stressed out before your wedding, then by all means, please purchase your dress from here. I went there in October. Made an appointment that happened to be with the owner. I picked a few dresses off the shelf that I wanted to try on after showing Stephanie what I did and didn't like. I put a dress on and really liked it! Stephanie then told me that it was the type of dress that I didn't like. So what? I liked it, shouldn't that matter? (It wasn't like the other dress that I showed her that I didn't like, although I think it may have been the same style. Also didn't want to have a veil but I tried one on just for fun and ended up purchasing it.) Stephanie later said that, "If you're not liking any of these dresses, maybe find somewhere else to try some on and call it a day." After she said that, I wanted to cry and was not having fun at all. I wanted to leave. Anyways, Stephanie had to leave halfway through my appointment time and thank goodness Sadie came to save the day. Sadie was wonderful and unfortunately, she doesn't work there anymore to help those who want to get dresses from here. But good for her for leaving such an unkind, unorganized company. Sadie asked if I liked any of the dresses I tried on beforehand and I went back to the one Stephanie told me wasn't the style I wanted. I ended up purchasing that dress and really feel like I did thanks to Sadie's kind and professional atmosphere, not to mention that I actually loved that dress. Sadie received a nice tip after that visit. Once the dress was ordered and came in (4 months later in February), we went to pick it up. It had some flaws in it and Sadie who was helping us then still said that it shouldn't look like this and they'll send it back and have them order a new one. They said they will rush the shipment and will steam the dress when it came back in. They also said it could still take 4 months to get here. 4 months came and gone so I figured we'd call them. I had my mom call them because at this point, I didn't want to deal with them anymore. They never even called me to say that the first dress came in, we called them 4 months after October and it was there, so I had my mom call them this next time around. My mom left them a message and they ended up leaving her a voicemail saying, "We contacted Mary about this saying it has been here since February." I never got a message saying it was in, just like I hadn't the first time. After I heard that message, my heart sunk because I knew they never returned it and ordered me a new one at that point. They also never gave my mom a straight answer saying if they had or hadn't returned the dress. We went there a few days later, and wouldn't you know, the dress I tried on back in February was the same one. I kept my cool because I went in there negative as can be, already knowing their mess up. We had to deal with Stephanie again, and she was sweet as can be towards me. Wonder why, she wasn't like that when I first met her. But she only gave us $100 back towards the dress and that was it. She gave us other options as well but kept contradicting herself with what she previously stated and we left with the messed up dress and $100. My mom mentioned writing a bad review which Stephanie then said, "You know, it's not kind to write a bad review for something that isn't my fault." Being a business owner, it is your fault. You or no one else followed up with the place that was suppose to send a new dress for me. That's on you and you need to take responsibility for it. She also said how stressed out she was feeling about this whole situation. Does she not understand how stressed I'm feeling? If they were to order another dress now, it wouldn't even get here on time for the wedding. If you're feeling so stressed about your company's mistakes and hearing us as customers complain about it...you shouldn't be a business owner. But hey, thanks for being nice to me during the third time I visited there. I will never be there again and will always tell others not to...
Read moreLet me start off by saying if I could give this place 0 stars after yesterday, I would. Their website that says "helpful & knowledgeable staff" is funny! I also realized they never gave me my $30 booking fee off the dress either! List of things that went wrong:
SELLER BEWARE DO NOT bring your dress here for consignment. We had it here for 7 months, and decided to reclaim it before it became property of the store, so we could resell. when we brought the dress home and under further inspection the zipper was broken, and there were a few black hairs on the dress. My wife was obviously upset and wrote a negative review.
I was then contacted by the store owner Stephanie who immediately tried to cast the blame on "customers" saying "Girls will be girls". She also claimed that from inspection of her camera footage that there was no damage. Then alluded to the idea that my wife or i purposely damaged our own property.
I proposed a compromise sell her the dress directly, and she lied and said the dress had been at her store for over a year, so she wouldn't do another consignment. Then went on to say that she would repair the dress and when i explained that i live an hour away and that i would need to schedule time out of my day to bring the dress in. She then said that she would only compensate me by having me drive it in to be repaired.
I tried to reason with her about this and that it is not my fault that the dress is damaged, and that it would be 4 hours drive time plus gas as well as time off work to get a repair. Her response was insulting and offered to ship me a 20 dollar check because that is what she is charged from her tailor.
I also tried to reason with her on this point because i sincerely doubt that there is another tailor that would only charge me 20 dollars to have it repaired. Mind you the only reason she even considered the 20 dollars/Fix was to persuade me to change my wife's prior review Which she mentions several times during our conversation. I am extremely dissatisfied as a customer and will be taking my repairs else were. I hope this helps any would be sellers to consider other options when trying to...
