Update: we stayed here for the 2nd year in a row for my birthday. The room we were in was extra large and very cozy! The noise level was much better this time around but we did have a room that wasn't next to anyone else. The view from out room was outstanding and over looked Rosa Park Circle. The parking situation was absolutely horrid. We had to park a few blocks away in a parking garage for another hotel and carry all our belongings. We could have dropped them off while we checked in but it was so busy by the front door and not much room for cars to park for check-in and check out. So out of respect we checked in and immediately moved our vehicle for the next few people coming in. Old review: I wanted to give this hotel 5 stars but due to the paper thin walls it gets a 4. But don't let that scare you away. The lobby is LOUD upon walking in. However, there is a bar right smack dab in the middle of it. It was hard to hear the front desk person over all the noise while checking in. The room was absolutely stunning. Very aesthetic and pleasing to the eyes. There was a refrigerator in the room but no microwave which was a tiny downfall. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. We were woken up about every 2 hours in the middle of the night by non stop yelling in the hallways and some of the rooms. I feel like if it was quiet we would have gotten a really good night's sleep. Our room faced the road and you could hear quite a bit of traffic driving by during the day. The room was clean except for under the bed. I only looked under the bed because I dropped something and it slid under there. The parking set up is awful. It was $32 to park in a tiny, uncovered parking lot next to the hotel, when you could pay $20 to park for the entire night in a covered parking garage on the other side of the hotel. The hotel and rooms are beautiful inside all in all. But there are just a few minor details that could be made to...
Read moreIt’s currently 2:00am, Sunday morning, June 1st. I’m writing this from my vehicle where I’m sleeping for the night. I booked two rooms at nearly $500 each for one night, as we traveled down here for a concert. We returned to our room around 10:30pm to get some sleep before heading home in the morning. The lobby was like a nightclub with a DJ and very loud music, which was alarming. But trying to sleep has been a disaster. The parking garage across the street and the road below our rooms are filled with people on loud speakers, yelling, tuned car engines and motorcycles revving their engines, for hours now. It is unbearable. It’s Tokyo Drift meets Fast and Furious. There is nothing peaceful or comfortable about staying here. The only thing I could do was get dressed, head to my vehicle in a different parking garage (because the hotel doesn’t have parking) and try to sleep here. It is much quieter.|I told the front desk and they apologized, and I know it’s not their fault, but how has no one complained before? I held the door open so they could hear. I expect some sort of refund for resorting to sleeping in my car. For $500 per night, I expected a much different experience.|Please note, all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, except the night manager who said they’d never had any complaints before. I’m so disappointed, and exhausted.|Just beware….if you’re here for an all-night party, you’ll love it. If you actually expect a great night’s sleep, not so much.|Pic: The view from my ‘room’ in my vehicle.|ETA: I emailed the operations manager, and she responded promptly with an acknowledgement that they know the street noise is a problem, and offered to wave my parking garage fee and pet fee. I paid $1000 for two rooms and had to sleep in my car. Do better, Marriott. That’s crappy compensation for what I endured. You know it’s a problem, and do nothing but offer apologies, ear...
Read moreI stayed at the AC Hotel at the beginning of November. The rooms provide safes to keep her personal belongings protected. Unfortunately, I left some valuable jewelry in the safe during my stay. When I realized I had left it, I immediately called. I was connected to security and they informed me that they recovered the jewelry and asked how I would like it returned. I filled out the appropriate form and asked for a significant amount of insurance for the shipment. However, I was informed that I could only take out $1000 policy. When the fedex box arrived I was missing two of the most valuable pieces. I immediately called the hotel and was again connected to security. The woman I spoke to got extremely defensive and stated that the jewelry was there when they sent it. Unsatisfied I spoke with the general manager. She put me in touch with the general manager of the security company. He sent me the pictures of when the jewelry was taken out of the safe and the two pieces were in the photos. After some communication with him, he is blaming FedEx for taking my jewelry. However, the box that came was not tampered with and the contents were very well contained. I am almost positive someone from the hotel’s security stole my jewelry. I have contacted the police. I now have tried a few times in speaking with the general manager of the hotel with no call backs. It is pretty sad that Marriott has hired such an unethical security team. Someone needs to be accountable for my missing jewelry. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. If this has happened to me it could happen to you. What is the point of having safe boxes if your belongings can’t even be...
