We traveled from Houston because our 3-year-old loves Peppa Pig. We booked the play for 2pm. Check-in was a breeze. After check-in, you walk through the red bus with Mrs. Rabbit to enter the park. Before continuing, you have an opportunity to take pictures against a green screen that they later add Peppa Pig scenes.
Once inside, the place was packed. Now in retrospect, they probably overbooked? The place was cute, activities/interactions would have been nicely spaced out if it wasn't so packed, and it did have enough for my kiddo to do. However, we will not be returning unless they make some needed changes.
First, add a Security check – even though we had wrist bands, they were color coded for your time slot, which I did not know until we were in the park. The entry attendant hand wrote my info on all our wristbands. When you leave, there’s no security check to make sure that’s your kid. Anyone could have walked out with your kid. That's quite disturbing.
Second, they need more staffing. We saw only 2 employees throughout our play, and they were rushing fast through the park with fear written all over their faces. There was an area for babies to crawl around, but older kids were climbing on the soft foam and jumping off them. I had my 9-month-old crawling around until 4–5-year-old girl kept following him, taking leaps off the tunnels he was crawling through or had her feet dangling to block his exit. Parents were nowhere to be found. With more staff members, maybe parents will look after their children better. The signs do say “no climbing.”
Third, enforce the no shoes policy for everyone and for the entire play area. Like other play spaces, they leave the shoes at the door in cubbies or something similar. There were some kids with shoes and some without. All the adults were wearing shoes. The kids were crawling, rolling and all over the floor. I don’t know where you’ve been with your shoes and now, you’re walking around on carpet, soft foam, toys, etc. where kids are playing. That’s gross.
If you plan on going anyway, bring plenty of wipes/sanitizer and most importantly, watch...
Read moreThis deserves a rating of about 500 in my book. I had a 3 year old and a 1.5 year old, both avid Peppa fans. From the moment we came around the corner in Grapevine Mills Mall and saw the entrance, both of them ran up to see the characters painted on the outside. Little did they know what waited for them inside that door. You enter through Rebecca Rabbits bus, and from there it goes into one large (LARGE) space that is kind of divided into "stations" that each depict something from the cartoon. One of us stayed with the 3 year old while she investigated at her 3 year old speed, and the other one just chased the 1.5 year old around while she got to run "free" without having to hold an adults hand. The space is so very colorful and bright that some kids were a little overwhelmed where to go first! I dont know how much fun some older kids would have, but for the ages I had, they were mesmerized by all the places to crawl and swing and jump in muddy puddles (no mud, just colored blobs on the carpet) and so many slides and buttons, it was amazing. They give you two hour time slots and that doesnt seem like a long time, but as an adult, you can get your 10K steps in just chasing them around, haha. They call out the time to go, and get ready for your kid to scream and cry that they dont want to leave, but luckily, there is a train ride in the mall that you can spend 10$ to ride around the inside of the mall to kind of let them down easy, and by then they are ready to head to the car. It was a great time. Make sure they wear socks because there are a few climbing stations where they have to take off their shoes. There is also a little Peppa food truck that has half decent pizza for adults, small ones for kids, chicken nuggets, and tons of snacks like gummies, and drinks and stuff. ...
