I am currently attending Rasmussen. Rasmussen has been the best option for me at this point in my life. I currently have 3 children and I work full time. I am a single mom with no one available to watch my kids outside of daycare. I am currently going for my Associates degree for a Healthcare Information Tech. Due to the lack of care I have for my children, sitting in class wasn't an option for me. All of my classes are online which I can access anywhere. There are online live classrooms. I enjoy those the most. I love the feedback and the interactions with the instructors. It can be very overwhelming with all the assignments that are due every week, but I have managed to work through them all thus far. Any questions or concerns I have are usually addressed in about 24 hours. The 24 hour tech support has been extremely useful. I never used a tutor before, but I have used it for my math class. A tutor is available 24/7. I feel way more confident now when it comes to math.
When I first started this journey I was going for a Medical Assistant certification. I am already a CNA and I realized I was going to be paying a lot of money for my education and still end up with about the same pay. I decided to change my degree. I talked to my academic adviser and changed my degree. I also was able to take on more classes this quarter to bump my expected graduation date from the end of December of 2016 to March 2016. Once I finish my associates degree I plan to pursue my bachelors degree.
I have gotten a lot of support from the faculty and staff. I don't know if I could do it if I didn't have the support I needed. I'm only going in to the second quarter of my education, but so far, I have...
Read moreHave to say I enjoyed my experience at Rasmussen University, especially compared to what I hear about other institutions. Classes had varying degrees of difficulty, but ultimately they prepared me to work as a Registered Nurse and more importantly how to pass my boards. Being able to enter the program without being placed on a wait list was one of the biggest draws and the reason I entered the program. Instructors were responsive, and took extra time when I had questions for the on campus classes, which seems to be a rarity for many institutions. I even went back for my RN-BSN, which was fully online and I also enjoyed that program. The instructors are highly qualified and the nursing Dean cares about the students. Overall, I would recommend Rasmussen if you are looking to get into nursing school and start working as soon as possible. Honestly, Nursing school can be difficult and stressful, which I think many people don't realize before they enter school. They may blame the college but from what I hear from co-workers, it is like that everywhere. You need to put a lot of your own time in to read and study the material presented to you, and have the right attitude. I appreciated my experience and I've had no issues getting the jobs I've wanted. I work with nurses that are Rasmussen graduates and nurses that have graduated from other schools and it comes down to having the right personality...
Read moreI graduated from Rasmussen College, Spring of 2016. I never in a million years did I think I’d ever get a college education, let alone make the Deans List every quarter.
I was a single Mom with a new born baby. I was going to class year ‘round. This was a tough time, but was do able because I was able to do my classes online as Rasmussen offered this amazing opportunity.
I had lost my Grandmother my first semester while enrolled. My teachers were extremely flexible and understanding. They gave me the time to be with family and also make up my finals.
The years went on, and I had another bump in the road in my life that required me to move back to MI. My teachers, Julie and Lori, went above and beyond to keep me on top of my studies. They let me attend class via FaceTime and I didn’t miss a day. When it came time for my externship, they were able to place me at a location close to MI that made my commute less stressful as this happened in the dead of winter.
I was able to graduate and finally start my career all thanks to Rasmussen College and their amazing staff. My son who was a newborn when I started was 2 years old and was able to watch his Mom walk across the stage.
I highly recommend Rasmussen College to anyone who is interested in furthering their education. The flexible schedule, affordable classes, and outstanding staff will make you never regret...
