I havent been to Southridge since before i had my 8yr old.. probabpy close to 10yrs! When i went this last Saturday i was surprised that most of the stores were the same 10yrs ago but not nearly as busy! I went down the escalator in the opposite corner of the mall by Rue21 or whatever its called.. My 3yr old was too scared to go down.. she sliped thru my fingers n my 8yr old stopped n ran back to get her.. 3yr old started crying i turned.. And cuzthe escalator was moving Down.. i felt ontop my LeftLeg.. the stair was sooooo Sharp it started digging into my skin.. my body weight was on that leg making the puresure worse.. I didnt fall down Any stairs nor Up.. juston the stair next to the 1 i was standing on.. but my Aunty Annes Pretzels FLEW Everywhere that i just bought!! And i couldnt get up since it was still moving..
When i stood up there were 4 or 5 sharp cuts n scraps from the extremely sharp metal teeth on the escalator stairs! I tracked down security station to try n fill out an Incident Report.. cuz im at that age where if i have a slipped disc in my back i wanna know where n when it happened!! The security had No formal paperwork. He just typed in his phone. I wanted an email of the report or note he typed..i wantedthe mall manager to call me that monday but no call came through no voicemail no texts and no emails.. i wasnt even offered a Bandaid for the bleeding scraps n cuts on my leg left!!
He did ask if i wanted an ambulance.. no way im paying $500 dollars for a few bad scratches!! But i did see my regular doctor for other reasons n brought that up. Thankfully it will heel soon..
Still.. i am NOT happy. The security officer lady that walked in told me this has never happened before since she started working at the mall years earlier!! I pointed out howthey probably dont know where to go! That it probably happens ALL The Time and no one says anything!! She said No.
Then 4minutes later i went to the stairs to head back down to first floor. And this Mom n her 2kids were on the escalatornext to men her Daughter had just fallen too!! As i was walking next to them but on the stairs!!
Funny how these other escaltors close down no no changes seem to be made!! Why wasnt that escaltor closed down after my fall n cuts?!
Anyways i am NOT HAPPY about the deep cuts on my left leg at all!! Im not happy at how rediculiusly sharpthose stairs are on that escalator!! That was Sharp Pointed metal, not rounded smooth like the JC penny escaltors!!
Not cool!!
Please HELP!
Here are Pictures of the cuts on my leg 4days later!! Tell me what u think?! Their were others and a very sore bruised elbow.. but the others went away very small skin abrasion. These scraps...
Read moreWent to the mall with my husband today just to browse around and buy whatever we liked! It's been awhile since we had a mall shopping spree like that, but I was feeling nostalgic for the good old days and Southridge is the mall I grew up with. The last time I visited this mall was pre-pandemic. The mall currently has a lot of great and unique stores in it! A few years ago it was mostly all stores selling cheap clothes for teens. The availability of different stores has greatly increased. We bought a bunch of stuff! We really appreciated the variety and good prices. We loved the frozen yogurt in the food court. We didn't get a chance to get to the arcade but we plan to come back soon for it. It looks awesome!! We will definitely be coming back for more shopping sometime soon. I would give the mall 5 stars except I am really sad that they remodeled the mall a few years ago and made it all beige and bland looking. I miss the old blue railings and retro-style elevator and the stage. I miss how there used to be a bunch of fountains and trees in the center of the mall. Now it's all just kiosks and empty looking. The mall used to feel like a community, with everyone hanging out around the fountains and watching the little stage shows... now it just looks depressing in that area of the mall. What's a mall without a bunch of fountains??? The way the mall looked before the renovation was amazing....
