Update: Was called by a manager the following evening and informed my sweater had been found in their LOST and FOUND. I picked it up the following day. I have therefore added an additional star simply because of my relief in having my sweater back
BUT, here's my question. Why didn't anyone inform me there was a LOST AND FOUND and then go directly there to look for my sweater the night I returned to the theater!!! So ridiculous!!!!!!
ORIGINAL POST
I went to a 6:40 p.m. showing of Ready Player One yesterday. I was the ONLY one in theater 11 during most of the movie and thoroughly enjoyed having my own private screening. The only other person in the theater was an employee, who entered and left the theater 2 times during the movie and appeared to check the emergency exit. I really like this theater, from the friendly staff to the newly renovated seating. However, I was sorely let down yesterday.
I took a sweater with me because sometimes the temperature can get too cool, especially in the evenings. I was pleasantly surprised that the temperature was very comfortable without a sweater, so I folded it and placed it behind me at my lower back (I have some stiffness in that area, especially if I sit for a long period, and support helps). After the movie, I drove the 12 miles home before remembering I had left my sweater in my seat. I immediately returned to the theater, in the pouring rain, to retrieve the sweater, because it was my favorite and I paid $89.00 for it!
The 10:00 p.m. showing was in progress in theater 11 and the manager refused to allow me to go into the theater to retrieve my sweater. She told me she would not got in either. I told her I was concerned that someone would take it away with them because it was a very nice sweater, but she still refused. I asked her to double check to see that there were, in fact, people in the theater. She checked and said there were 5 people in that theater and she could not enter (even though I had witnessed an employee come in and leave 2 times when I was there).
I gave the manager a description of my sweater. She promised me she would check the theater when the movie ended (around 12:30 a.m.) and would give me a call. Reluctantly, and somewhat upset by the whole unreasonable ordeal, I drove the 12 miles back home and waited for the call. I was called by another employee approximately 15 minutes before the movie ended and told she would call me back when she checked the theater. True to her word she did call, but she found no sweater.
Any logical person would conclude that my sweater most certainly had been taken by one of the 5 people watching the movie, even though she refused to admit it. She first inferred that maybe I was in another theater (false) or that something else must have happened to the sweater. What? It certainly didn't walk away on its own. So that leaves the theater staff and the 5 people who watched the movie immediately after the one I watched. Her only suggestions were to offer me the opportunity to come back and look for myself or that she would go look again. I quickly told her that if she couldn't find my sweater in HER theater, certainly the sweater was not longer in HER theater. She did put me on hold to go look again, but still no sweater!
I think that Regal Cinemas owes me the cost to replace my sweater. Had the manager allowed me to enter the theater as I first requested, I would now have my sweater! If she had gone to look, I would now...
Read moreI went for a late night showing of the Eras Tour. I was greeted and attendants were friendly enough but I will not be back. The recliners are in a state of disarray. They’re peeling and falling apart. I was apprehensive to sit down in the chair it looked so bad. Then during the movie, teenagers in hoodies begin walking in and walking around the theater. It was obvious they didn’t have tickets. My friend went to the bathroom and complained to me that the teenagers were all lingering in the doorway of the movie and then letting in others at the external side door. She felt unsafe. So I get up (during the show I paid for) m to tell security and it seems they were aware. So I go to the bathroom and there are three girls sitting on the sinks and just talking. Why or how they could stand to be in the bathroom, I don’t know. The bathrooms were in an ALARMING state. There was puke or diarrhea ALL over the floor and walls of a stall. I went to the next 2 stalls and it was splashed on the floor there too. Upon exiting, I told security in hopes that they would tell the manager but when I used the bathroom after the movie ended (more than an hour later), the mess was still there. I thought when I saw Spider Man in the Spiderverse back in June, a whole bucket of spilled popcorn being all over the floor in the hallway before and AFTER my movie was an “maybe we shouldn’t come back here” moment. But my goodness! After last night I will NOT return to the Friendly Center movie theater. Not only was it gross but it was...
Read moreThey expect to much like they want workers to say which register is card and which is cash when a register is suppose to be able to work both ways not just be able to do one task and even though they don’t have arrows explaining which is cash or card making the job for workers harder and making it harder for guest but instead of fixing the register so it’s able to do both task they like to blame the door person for everything and put pressure on them. When it come to working here or coming to concessions expect a line and pressure simply because they won’t put no arrows up on what register is cash or card and it’s not fixed to where it can do both task all the registers are separate with cash on the left and card on the right and I feel like people shouldn’t have to go through that including workers. The door person job should only be to check tickets and make sure no one is sneaking into the theatre. Last thing is the ticket register don’t work that’s outside like it did 5 years ago in the video clip. I’ll review it again when I’m there and I see changes with the way they handle things letting you people know if it get better or worse I also want you guys to notice how the register outside is closed and they making people come inside to concession to get tickets instead of using the one outside like they should plus if you went to any other theatre I promise the register outside would be open it would not say something like go inside concession...
