The gentleman who came to my house for quotes on items I was selling was very nice, so I decided to try them. It was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Yes, one piece sold quickly, but other pieces were pushed into a back room where customers literally could not get to them to examine them if interested. I went in several times to check on my items and was appalled at how customers were being treated. But I'd already paid to have furniture moved there and didn't want to move it again. The final straw was discovering serious damage to a piece of furniture and having the owner IMMEDIATELY accuse me of doing it AND bringing it to her in that condition. My reply, one-your employees picked up the furniture (that I was paying to move) and I feel certain they would have noticed and notated the issue and, two-I had taken pictures of the furniture the day it was moved. Even with me saying I had pictures of what it had looked like when it left my house, she continued to try and blame me for serious damage. I was shocked-and even speechless for a moment-that this was her first reaction. Granted, I signed an agreement that they are not liable for damages, but some of the damage was clearly from their employees displaying items on top of this furniture. Even more amazing was how everyone discussing the situation suddenly disappeared, leaving me standing alone in the store. Yes, they called a few days later and said they had "found" the missing part and would see if they could repair it. I fully intended to go see it for myself and was "surprise" that it sold before I could get there. The piece had not sold in the previous months which absolutely made me wonder how long it had been sitting on the floor damaged (I had looked for it once before and could not find it). I understand you are taking a risk putting your furniture out for the public to handle, but being accused not once, but several time of damaging my own piece even though her own employees packed it up was insulting. It certainly explains some of the behavior I've seen towards other customers as well. Make your own choice, but be forewarned. I would never work with this business again, nor recommend...
Read moreWe came in last Friday. TERRIBLE customer service! They shut the lights off on us. After buying a cozy house on Smith Mt Lake in VA., after our hard work of owning our own family business. My sister & I are in search of beautiful rustic pieces, we decided to take the long trip out to our once favorite vintage store. Horrible traffic & the GPS taking us to the wrong location, we arrived just as they were closing. We walked in & no one greeted us just stared at us, so we continued & we overheard them talking, “Hello isn’t someone going to tell them we’re closed?....EXCUSE ME we’re closed” We quickly backtracked to the front desk & My sister asked if we could just have 10 minutes of their time to quickly look since we knew what we’re already looking for & explained how we went to the wrong location & that we were from out of town. The ladies said no we are closing. One of them turned to another, should I go ahead and run the report on the registers now? Luckily, one lady did step forward, & asked what we were looking for and she led us into the right direction, but as soon as we were walking into the back area they SHUT the lights off on us. We were just so uncomfortable on how they were treating us, we thanked the lady & decided to leave. As we were walking out, the other ladies at the front desk were staring & giving us dirty looks, probably because we didn’t purchase anything. Yes! We fully understand you want to go home. But from one locally owned business to another, 10 minutes of your time is not going to hurt you & that’s not a way to treat a customer. I don’t support these types of places, & i wonder if your individual vendors in your shop know how you turn away & treat potential customers, such a shame. We went across the street to Shoppes of Patterson, where we were greeted with a warm “We’re happy to help!”, & we ended up finding exactly what we were...
Read moreWent there on Tuesday and saw a lamp I really liked but passed on it. I called back on Wednesday when they opened and was ready to purchase it over the phone. I asked the lady to do me a favor and check something on the lamp for me. She put me on hold for a sec and when she returned she informed me that she would not check it for me. The lamp was literally within arms distance of the register. I was in shock because I have shopped there for years. I immediately told the lady to just forget it. I will no longer be shopping there going forward due to the lack of professionalism and the common curtesy of doing a favor for a long time customer. I will be passing this experience along to friends and family as well as several designers who shop there. Customer service can make or break you and according to others I've told about this they have experienced the same level of customer service. This use to be somewhat of a higher end consignment store but lately it is looking kinda like a thrift store. ie: the cheap jewelry in glasses with tape across the top. Directly across from...
