BEWARE OF THIS SHADY BUSINESS* I would like to talk about my experience with furniture world. I was looking for a new mattress set for my son. I called the furniture world in four seasons mall, and asked if they had a full size mattress set that was inexpensive. I was told they had a full mattress set for $139. I then asked the young sales lady that answered the phone, if the set was in the store to take home today if i decided to come purchase it . She said yes. So my teenage son and I decided to go there and take a look at the set. When we got there we were greeted by the same young lady that I talked to on the phone. I told her I recently called about a full mattress set. She remembered right away and said yes would like to see it. She takes us to the area where the mattress is being displayed. The mattress that was on display was a twin. We both sat on the mattress, and thought it felt pretty good. So I tell her that I want to purchase the set. She then tell us that full set isn't at this location, it's at a location about 3 miles away. To me this was unprofessional. I specifically asked on the phone was the full set in the store and she said yes. If i knew the full set was actually at another store I would have just went there instead going into the mall. But I didn't let that get to me. I told her ok and drove to the other store. Now this is where the real nonsense happens. We get to the other store. It's completely empty of customers. There's a lady sitting at a desk on the phone. We walk up to the desk and she says she will be with us in a second. That's not a problem. I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount time. Well that one second becomes 15 minutes. She finally gets off the phone. We tell her we were just at the mall location, and they sent us here for the full set mattress for $139. She then says that mattress set is $149. I tell her we just left the mall and was told multiple times there it was $139. She laughs and replies it's 149, and that maybe the sales lady and I had a communication barrier that caused the misunderstanding. I told her what barrier would that be. I speak English perfectly and so did she. At this point she is hell bent on insinuating that I'm telling a lie. I tell her I would like for her to call that store and speak to person we talked to. She then calls the mall store and immediately starts speaking Spanish to the young lady. I don't think she knew how loud the young girl was on the phone but I could hear her really good. Now mind you everyone in this situation speaks perfect English. But she felt the need to speak Spanish the entire conversation. Hmm I wonder why? Little does she know I'm a black man that understands Spanish completely. So basically what the young sales lady told her is she thought the set was $139. This sales lady then tells her it's never been that price it's 149. The young sales lady started to apologise to her saying sorry she didn't know that. She tells the young lady it's ok, and she'll take care of the situation. She gets off the phone and turns to us, and says the sales lady told me she never told you $139. At this point I'm completely blown away. I can't believe the nerve of this lady. I then said that's not what she said. I told her I understand Spanish and heard the young sales lady tell you she thought it was $139. Even after being caught in a bold face lie she refused to do the right thing. After that I walked out. There is no way I'm going to give any money small or large to a business that willing to treat it's black customers like this over 10 dollars. I recommend other's don't either. It's time businesses in our community start respecting us and our money appropriately. I ended up finding the Matress Outlet of Greensboro. They had a better quality mattress for the same price and they treated me great from...
Read moreThis place is a joke. We went there on a Friday and told them we wanted a couch and chair. The lady who helped us told us we'd get the furniture that night or the next morning. I never heard from them that night so I contacted them Saturday morning. Come to find out, they decided to push our delivery date until Wednesday or Thursday. So we waited and waited.. [we recently moved here and had no furniture to sit on]. Thursday came around and we were so pumped to have furniture finally, well I called [which they will never call you] and they pushed it back to Friday. Friday morning came around and we finally got a call in the late morning to tell us they are on their way. 30 minutes later we got another call stating that there were almost here [we only live 15 minutes from the store]. 30 minutes later they called and said they were just now leaving. Truck finally gets here and we only see a couch loaded up in the back, no chair. Couch was installed and looks good. So I called the store and told them we were missing our chair. The lady over the phone didn't know which chair we had. I described the chair to her and she said she'd take a picture of it and text it to me to verify. Well, I never got a picture. So I headed up to the store to talk to them in person and point out our chair. When I got there, the rude lady told me she was about to send me a picture. She walked me over to a chair she thought was ours, not even close! I then walked her down the isle and pointed out the chair and told her I want it delived in 1 hour. The chair was delivered safe and sound within an hour.
When we 1st went there we saw a kitchen table and chairs we really liked. So we called and told them the mishap of the couch and chair issue and wanted to make a deal and get a discount on the table set. They said to come in and talk to them and make a offer. So we went there and pointed out the floor model and told them what we wanted to pay for it. They couldn't do that price so she told us her bottom dollar. She said there was a 10% debit card transaction so we'd have to pay cash. We said no, we wanted it for the bottom dollar price without the 10% markup. She went over to the computer to 'check' something. She never came back to finish our conversation. So we had to walk up there to talk to her. She kept going on about the old employee who screwed our delivery days up about the couch and chair. We finally just said okay, and walked out.
We have never been to a store and been treated this way. All we wanted to do was get a discount on the floor model kitchen table set. [One of the chairs was damaged also].
The couch and chair that we were supposed to get was the floor model, which I guess your not supposed to do. At least that's what the rude lady was telling us.
The whole situation was stupid and we will never go back there. Ever. If you are thinking about checking this place out,...
Read moreThey deserve a 0! My husband and I originally went to Four Seasons and picked out a living room set and matching rug. We chose to pick up our furniture instead of being charged a delivery fee of $85. We received a text stating the furniture was ready for pick up @2:32 pm and my husband called and told them he would be in the next day. When he arrived they told him he needed to come back in an hour and half and he suppose to call before he comes. Mind you we do not live in Greensboro and I have never heard of such foolishness if you were already notified the furniture was ready, you need to call before you come. I called and originally spoke with Maria at the Gate City Blvd location and she refused to put the manager in the phone bc she needed my name and number to log calls in. I gave that woman my name and number 3x’s until I told her I was not giving her that information again. She kept asking, I hung up and called back and Felita (manager) answered and was very rude and disrespectful. I also called Mohammad as well in Four Seasons and he was rude as well. I asked Felita for the owner’s/her manager’s name and she flat out told me I’m not telling you that. I also asked the name of the financing coming because I was at work and didn’t have the paperwork on me. She said I’m not giving you that information either. There was a lot of back and forth because she was very rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and speaking in a condescending tone as if I was a child. I told her to cancel it. I also spoke with the finance company as well and they said they would void the transaction. Mohammad said there would be a 25% restocking fee for something we never took out of the store in which the transaction was done Sunday evening and they claimed it was ready on Monday, so what are you restocking?? They refused to deliver for free and Mohammad has the odacity to charge $40 to deliver after my husband had already been there with help to pick up furniture. In addition to the furniture being cancelled on Wednesday, I received a phone call on Saturday from some man stating he was calling from Furniture World to deliver our furniture. He didn’t even say his name and then I told him we had cancelled it on Wednesday and he said we were delivering for free. I would never do business with those rude, disrespectful and unprofessional people!! I also reported them to the Better Business Bureau!! I should have been cautious when they damaged my friend’s apartment door and floor and they didn’t even tell him they did it. They could’ve gave me that free and I still wouldn’t have taken. I don’t want anything to do with people who conduct themselves in that manner and tell lies!!! No apology for the inconvenience or behavior and poor customer service that we received!! BEWARE before dealing with...
