My family and I have always enjoyed going to wunderland and enjoying the games, movies and activities. Sadly we choose the Gresham location for my sons birthday today, though the facility and most of the staff we encountered were lovely it was tarnished by the manager Russ. As I politely waited for my kids to finish their game of laser tag I noticed Russ playing a racing game near the exit of the laser tag game. Russ abruptly yelled across the gaming room to an employee standing with her coworkers by the VR area. He continued to yell at her from across the game room asking if she had a walkie talkie and why she wasn’t using it…. At this point the other employees scattered and she was left to his wrath. Once he finally decided to walk over to the employee you could still hear him degrading her, while getting in her face and obviously making her uncomfortable. I felt the need to take action as the situation had lasted long enough (approximately 10 min) so I asked another employee where the manager was, as at that point I did not realize he was the manager. The employee ended up asking Russ who I could contact above him at which point Russ got in my face and asked why? I stated that I did not feel as though the actions taking place were appropriate in a place where minors are at play. To which he said “oh you mean me correcting employees for not using this (as he held up the walkie talkie)” . I politely said I would just plan to call them tomorrow… he then asked if I wanted the number to which I said no thank you I can find it online. At that point he was degrading me and treating me poorly and I did not want to further the conversation with my kids around. As I attempted to take my kids to the prize counter and leave he insisted that he give me the number and his name and walked to the table with me and wrote the information down. At that point I took the information he wrote, and hurried my kids through the prize line to get out of there. I am disappointed that this man is a manager in an establishment based in minor entertainment where a majority of the employees are minors or young adults. This is not leadership and it puts families in an environment that does not feel safe. Additionally it is frustrating to take my child for a birthday celebration and drop well over $100 and be treated so poorly and to watch an employee be so belittled in front of the...
Read moreAs a lifelong fan of Wunderland (even from when they were in a different location in Gresham years ago), I’ll never return! I waited in line with my son while I watched a father in front of me, holding a stack of birthday presents, enter the building. He walked on through the entrance and the employee asked if he had paid to get in. Dumbfounded, he said he had indeed paid and had only left to grab gifts out of his car. The woman said he had to pay to re-enter and pointed out the sign that said no re-entries. He said, “I’m bringing business to you by having my kid’s birthday party here. Are you serious?” She replied that she was serious and those were the rules. The man was shocked and paid the $2 to get back into his son’s birthday party. Had I not promised my own son we would spend our afternoon there, I would have turned around and left. I was just as disgusted as him, as was the man in front of me. When we paid our entrance fee, I confronted her about the incident, and like an emotionless robot, she pointed to the sign and said those are the rules! Once inside, I asked to speak to the manager. I explained the whole situation to the manager because it truly disturbed me and really affected that man, who was on the brink of tears of rage when they charged him the measly $2. The manager repeated that it was the rules, and that he could have just asked permission to leave. What kind of a twilight zone is this place in?! For that incident and the careless response from both workers, I’ll never come back. When 2 bucks and a silly rule that’s clearly better aimed at teens during a busy weekend night are more important than the people that keep your business open, you need to check your priorities. Good...
Read moreThis arcade and movie theater is inside a world of fun for kids and adults at a decent price. All the zillion of games are in nickle increments and are as low .15 most were .20 and were really fun. The kids can collect a certain amount of points when they win some of those games at the end of your playing time which is as long as you want you can turn those points in for fun little gadgets toys candy Etc. There is a laser tag game and some virtual reality game that do cost extra but according to the kids the laser game was really fun it was about five bucks each. I would stick with the nickel games you go a lot further with $10 4 hours. We also took in a kids movie that was there and that was out of lessons $4 for the kids and less than $5 for the adults. It's a real fun afternoon or evening and with our grandkids celebrating birthdays they had a ball I definitely would recommend this place. My only negative was when it came time to get some of the goodies from the points that you earn from the arcade games is a slow process they need some sort of a better set up to help the kids change those points it's a mess and it's time consuming there needs to be some better...
