Black Bear Diner Gresham — Restaurant in Gresham

My daughter recommend we go to this restaurant because she went to the one down in California and she gave it a 5 stars. Well we at went at about 7:15 am on April 27th and as we walked up to the front entrance the outside garbage can was over flowing on to the ground and garbage was stacked on top of the lid it was gross. We made a comment to each other and walked in. We stood at the front for awhile and finally a lady came up asked if it was the 2 of us we said yes she took us to a booth she dropped the silverware and menu and said here and left the table and we watched her quickly leave we continued to walk to the table look at each other and said that was rude and we sat down. My husband said she didnt even give us a menu. I picked up the news paper and opened it up and layed it down it was the menu and then my husband said oh. The waitress was gone a long time. She finally came back and asked us what we wanted for drinks. We ordered and she left. She brought those. When she came back to take our order my husband asked her if they had biscuits and she said she didn't know she would have to ask. She never came back with the answer. She brought our meal which took a long time to come to us. And there were biscuits but she should of come back and told my husband because he would of changed his breakfast if they didn't have biscuits. Towards the end of our meal there was another waitress that came out but she was moving slow. And the lady we had was moving way to fast. When we left the garbage was still full outside. They had picked up what was laying on the ground next to the garbage but it still looked bad. The portion size was big. But the customer service that we received from Garcia wasnt the greatest. But later in the morning I watched her with other customers and she was friendlier with them. Food was great prices are higher most anywhere else for the same quality dining experience the only complaint is I went to order my favorite breakfast adult beverage and they only serve beer go figure though a little prejudice with the choices of drinks I say Bears would agree a little blood in you're stomach before eggs over easy is just good practice hey callem Bloody Bearys I like it some will not I say to those enjoy a beer then just don't piss it off . There's a review you can chew on and it just gets bigger to swallow . Oh and leave the pepper at home got they got it covered by way of the get in where you fit in method of spicen up youre favorite choices and choices you have yet to bare youre teeth in satisfaction each table is stocked with a Bear Diner exclusive spice bar includes you're choice starting with the boldest and a bit on the warm side PapaBurnt Habrnero sauce followed by a little more friendly to you and youre buds Mama Burnt Chepolte sauce and last and certainly not least the House original ( I made that up ) im stallin the sauce is good the name BabyBurnt the Great original taste i havent a clue but im sure its better than cold pouridge probably good om cold pouridge . Barely anyone there but still took around 5 minutes to be seated, which isn't really a big deal. Once sat the waitress had an attitude and seemed like she'd rather be doing anything else when taking drink orders and again when taking food orders. We never saw her after that. Someone else brought out the food to us. Everyone else's food was warm/hot but the pot roast I had was cold and the veggies in it were cold, dry, and looked like they had been sitting out for a few hours. About 5 minutes after getting it and not having anyone working there walk by I went to the restroom and someone came by but I hadn't told my husband yet how my food was so he didn't say anything. When I came back I tried to get anyone's attention but wasn't able to and 20 minutes later when one of the employees came by and asked if we wanted boxes I told him how my food was and that my family may need them but I wanted to send mine back as it was just gross. He didn't take my food just said ok and brought the check and boxes for everyone else. My meal was still on the check even though I didn't eat it and nothing was done to fix the situation. In my opinion it should have been taken off or they should have taken it back and gotten a fresh pot roast for me not an old one. We won't be going back given that they served cold/older food and did nothing to remedy...
