Pictures were taken day of service. Toner was suggested to me after 😂 anyone knows if it is done correctly you would NOT need a toner treatment. Three years ago I previously got my hair styled and colored at J Curtis Salon which sadly closed almost a year ago. I then followed my wonderful hair stylist/colorist to Varnell & Co. which I absolutely adored, but they closed at the end of February of this year. I was doing my research on salons in the local area and came upon Lush Blowdry Bar. I called to make an appointment and received services on April 23rd by Selena Mason (who apparently was never employed by Lush Blowdry Bar because it was a trial day). Walked in @11:55am told her I wanted to get more blonde highlights, a trim and touch up my layers. Selena suggested we do hair painting which I was unfamiliar with because my previous hair stylist always used foils. She said “oh no hair painting will be much more natural looking and faster let’s try that today.” I sat in that chair for like 45mins waiting for the color to lift or whatever it is she was waiting for she said my hair wasn’t ready. After that she washed it, conditioned it and blow-dried it slightly. She started cutting my hair while it was still wet and even the layers around my face. I had grown out curtain bangs so I don’t know if she got confused or carried away nevertheless she did a hack job. Whenever I get any layers or bangs trimmed near my face my previous hair stylist would always use a razor like tool so you could imagine my confusion. When she was done cutting I told her I wanted a blowout. She said okay and started to give me a blowout and immediately went over it with a flatiron??? There was no volume whatsoever and I even asked her is this the correct way to perform a blowout??? She said “anyone who doesn’t use a flat iron is just being lazy”. It was in that exact moment I said to myself I am never coming back to this place my mind had already been made up. I should probably add I walked out of that building at 2:35pm which means I was there for almost three hours! So that means I was there for almost three hours! I got home and immediately noticed the orangey tones that were not even blended. I thought maybe it just needs to settle? I wash my hair once a week so I didn’t know if it would fade or not. It hasn’t and I can’t even split my hair down the middle without it looking orange! Not to mention my layers aren’t even blended I think she was blindly cutting chunks off. I called the salon and they told me I needed to work it out with Selena because she did my hair. I called her and she said “I would suggest a toner treatment, oh and I don’t do hair anymore”. Obviously a lie. As someone who has been in the service industry for 9+ years the customer service I received from both ends was beyond. Read moreI recently went to lush to get my blonde updated as it was quite grown out. I worked with jessi. I let her know I was looking for a blended root and not bleached to the scalp but that I was concerned with a reverse skunk stripe but she assured me that it was definitely not going to happen. We moved forward with the service, once she finished up I pointed out that there was hard banding toward the root at which she stated it would eventually fade. At this point I felt uncomfortable and that my concerns were not addressed so I paid and left. After getting home I came to notice how hard the stripe was down my head, and asked for a refund. I live over an hour and a half away and most definitely did not feel comfortable coming back for her to fix it. She and the owner offered to fix it for free, but who would want to have the same person "fix" it who didn't even address the problem when pointed out, and who also thought this was acceptable to leave with in the first place? I received a 25% refund and was told it was my fault for not communicating it even more than the 2 times i already had. The owner respectfully apologized and said she will continue to look into the issue. Read moreI am the happiest I have ever been with my hair all thanks to my girl Jayden. She goes above and beyond for her clients, and her work speaks for itself. She exceeded any and all expectations I had with my hair today. I have had very bad experiences in the past to which led me to not want highlights again truth be told. I had seen Jayden's work on social media and I couldn't help but be tempted to get her to do my hair. I have had a growing number of silver hairs and wanted something flattering to blend throughout my hair. I am beyond happy for making the trip to Lush for Jayden to do my hair. I love this salon and I love me some Jayden too. Her talent is truly amazing and I'm so happy to have her as my person now....
