We will not be going back - ever. I wish I could give Char Burger 5 stars as its one of the best burgers I've ever had. However... this is quite possibly the slowest place I've ever had to wait for food. And it wasnt a one time situation. The first time we went we ordered 2 burgers and ended up waiting over an hour. There were one or two other people - not families, just people - waiting on theirs in the restaurant when we walked in. In that 1+ hour I watched many people walk in, chat up the cook / owner / cashier, get their food and walk out. It was clear these were call-in orders. The people already in the restaurant also waited quite a while. But we chalked this up to maybe a staffing issue. Because the burger was so good we decided the next time we were in the area we'd give it another try. In the meantime I asked other people in our camping area if they were aware of Char Burger and they agreed, great burger, frustratingly long wait. We were in the area this last weekend and decided to give Char Burger another try. We ordered 4 burgers, fries, etc. The wait was over 45 minutes. Good burger, but holy cow (no pun intended) thats flat unreasonable. Even at an actual casual dining place you dont wait that long for a hamburger. My guess is locals flood the place with call-in orders leaving the kitchen unable to get in-house orders out in a reasonable time. I've never worked in the food industry but I'm also guessing thats upside down. I really feel like if someone is physically sitting in your establishment they should get their food first. Again, good burger, but we will wont be going back. 45 minutes to over an hour is unreasonable and plain inconsiderate of the customer - and its a KNOWN issue for years. If the expectation is, "well, you should call in then" that should be made plain on the door or something and walk-ins should be made aware...

Came here earlier this week for a quick lunch. This little hole-in-the-wall was quite popular for lunch, even later in the afternoon on a weekday. They boast both an indoor and outdoor ordering station. While known for their burgers, they also had a sort of hot bar with southern cooking (chicken livers, southern veggies, etc). You can also get milkshakes and ice cream for dessert.

They have indoor and outdoor seating. I came with a large number of coworkers; I opted for outdoor but there was room for everyone to go where they pleased.

The service was polite and welcoming. However, the woman who took my order seemed to have a hard time hearing me, which wound up ultimately creating a problem. I asked for a mushroom and Swiss burger, to which she responded, "A burger with no mustard?" And I said,"No ma'am, a mushroom and Swiss burger." She said "got it," in a way that suggested to me that she maybe really didn't...and when my order was delivered to me, I wound up with a totally plain burger, but for a ton of mustard on top.

We were in a hurry and it had taken a while to get our orders out to our large party, so I didn't figure it was worth sending back. But for this mistake, my food was yummy and I enjoyed it. The fries on the side were about average but they were hot and fresh. The burger patty was juicy and cooked well and the bun was nicely toasted.

I look forward to the opportunity to come again and actually try the mushroom and Swiss burger I...

Took my mother here on 01-10-2024 and almost had to take her straight to the emergency room because I told them she has a severe wheat allergy before we ordered and she told them she was allergic to wheat before she ordered and they served her French fries that were battered when the menu simply states French fries. The excuse that they are just a small mom and pop dairy bar are no longer valid with today's labels and technology. It's time to stop playing Russian roulette with peoples health and be honest with your customers! This was edited to clarify that the staff were told before we placed our order that my mother has a severe allergy to wheat, and they failed to check before serving us items covered in wheat based batter. If the menu had a better description of the product, we would have made a different choice. Who reads French fries and automatically thinks I bet these are battered seasoned fries and not regular fries. Come on people! do better! Yes, we were offered a replacement for the fries and declined because we no longer had any trust in the employees or their ability to serve something that wouldn't...
