My husband and I visited last week and our experience was unpleasant to say the least. We were initially amazed by our appetizer which was the spinach and artichoke dip. This dip was a 10/10 but followed with terrible service. When we received our pizza which was not served by our waitress we waited for about five minutes on her to come and bring plates and napkins. She was preoccupied speaking to a table of people she knew for the entirety of our dining. My husband had to walk to another waitress to ask for plates. Once receiving the plates, we completely forgot that we ordered side salads which didn’t arrive at our table until after we were done with our pizza. The boy who brought them said they had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. We stated that we forgot that we ordered them and no longer wanted them since we were done with our meal. When another family came in the waitress approached them and when they asked how she was she said “well I’m here. It was supposed to be my off day and they called me in.” I suppose that was the reason she didn’t pay us any attention. My husband had to flag her down for the check and then I explained that we sent our salads back due to sitting there and not receiving them until we were done eating in which she stated “oh they didn’t bring them?”. My husband and I left mad as our waitress ruined our night by not waiting on us and to make it worse couldn’t be bothered to refill our drinks. Needless to say we will not be returning.

First, the food: wonderful! My husband had an Italian sub with the sea salt fries. It was very flavorful and filling and the fries were perfect. My son had a calzone that came out piping hot and was also delicious. I had a NY style pizza (I always get the same toppings) and it was great. The crust was equally crispy and chewy, the cheese was stringy and oh so perfect, and the toppings were great and plentiful. Second, the atmosphere: sports bar themed, plenty of seating, clean and well organized. Parking is typical of downtown Guntersville. Third, the service: We were seated immediately (we went at around 4) and it was not at all crowded, and Maleah took our drink orders as soon as we sat. She told us that the person behind the bar would be our server, so we perused the menu for several minutes. When the server came from behind the bar, it was to greet a group of friends who'd just come in, whom she promptly seated, retrieved menus, explained everything, and then fetched drinks. After getting their drinks, she explained a couple more things to them and walked away. She never spared us a glance. Maleah saved the experience by noticing that we'd not been addressed and came back over, said "I guess I WILL be your server" took our order, refreshed our drinks, and answer our questions. She did a fantastic job and went above and beyond for us and her other patrons, never missing a thing! The other server never looked at us once.

So I saw Pizza Ed. pop up on Facebook a few weeks ago and I’ve been DYING to get up here and try their Chicago style deep dish! As most of you know I consider myself a connoisseur for pizza. This pizza is pretty close without having to fly to Chicago. I think the amount of of toppings are a bit much but I had to get wife have some of the joy. Their “butter crust” was about the only turn off for me, as I was afraid it was going to make the crust soggy, (liquid shorting on the tray of the pizza) but alas it did not. Now in true fashion this big pizza takes roughly 45 mins to cook. While waiting you can try a flight of your favorite local brews and try the fried ravioli. I’m not a fan of ricotta but the blend of cheese in these are fantastic. But back to the pizza. The sauce has that simple sweetness of tomatoes, while from a can tastes fresh. The gooey cheese basked against the pan causes a crunch worthy of a fresh bag of chips. Two slices between Keri and I and the rest is going home. Monday led to a large groups packed in the back of the restaurant, where all the action is, at a nice bar, a stage tucked away in the corner, and TVs a plenty with sports on. Staff is hustling, as much as possible, and can be understood the wait, but it was worth it. If you’re ever in Gunterville or Hartselle, be sure to check out Pizza Ed. It’s great!

I give up. I've only ordered pizzas (New York and deep dish) from here which are very good. The problem is I can never place a custom order. The last three times I craved a deep dish white socks with pepperoni added. They use door dash as their online ordering system and you are not able to add or subtract toppings from a pre-selected specialty pizza. No problem right, just call and place the order...the problem is no one ever picks up the phone. This last time, I tried calling twice, 2nd attempt was 10 minutes after the first. Phone just rang and rang both times until I got the "this number has not set up a voicemail". Of note, each of the three times I've tried to order have been on weekday afternoons.

Suggestions: Ensure you have someone to answer the phone that can receive a call-in order. Popping in to place the order and wait for a 45 minute deep dish pizza because I can't place the order ahead of time is a no go. If you insist on using door dash as your online ordering system, add the option to add/subtract toppings. Another thing is the option to add/subtract toppings to only one half of a pizza.

I may try again in a few weeks when I get the craving, however, if I run into the same issue, I will forever forget about this place and just drive to Huntsville for Mozza or Boots New York pizza. It's a shame as I enjoy the deep dishes available but it is just too difficult to place an order over the...
