For context, I can't stress this enough. (Hollandaise is egg yolks and butter with White wine vinegar or lemon juice, It's extremely hard to make tasteless Hollandaise, yet somehow, they managed to make it tasteless!?) 40 minutes wait for COLD food in an almost empty restaurant, 10 minute wait for water and coffee for 2 ($4 for black coffee), never received a side I asked for, 20 minute wait for my drink from the bar. It would almost be tolerable if the service was good but it wasn't, it was below average. It would still almost be tolerable if the food was amazing, but it was below average & cold. The dining room was less than a quarter full and it took over 40 minutes to get my food. It took way to long to get the water and coffee my table of 2 ordered. The bar wasn't busy and it still took over 20 minutes to get my drink, that by the way ... was sat on the far end of the table from me, I had to get up to get it and bring back it to my seat (how hard is it to hand a customer their alcoholic beverage?) over $50 for two people not including tip you would think the food would be out of this world but no. I really wanted to like this place and as slow as they were they had every opportunity to impress me but it definitely fell short. The service or food has to get better to justify the price. My drink was competently made tho and the bacon was cooked how I like. The problem was the food I ordered was cold by the time it got to me and the ice cream on my friends waffle was almost a puddle but the time it got to our table. I've seen ice cream on waffles before, it doesn't melt that fast, it had been sitting there for a good while. Also I'm not sure how this is possible but they managed to make tasteless Hollandaise sauce. It should be studied how that was achieved.
Also I've seen people saying this place was rude to them because they are minorities, it's not because you are black or brown, the service isn't good for white people either, so stop playing the race card, y'all...
Read moreI had a great experience on Saturday morning—our server, Michaela, took care of us and the manager was visible and making table visits. The food was excellent, and although service was a bit slow, it felt attentive.
However, Sunday morning was a completely different experience.
I asked the host where to place a to-go order, and she told me to sit under the TVs. I waited there for 20 minutes without being acknowledged, even though multiple servers and bartenders walked right past me. When I was finally addressed, I was told to give it a minute, which turned into another 10 minutes.
I moved to the bar hoping to speed things up—thinking that if I ordered a drink and food together, I’d be taken care of. I sat there for another 5 to 10 minutes, still ignored. The bartenders seemed to be running around with no clear communication or system in place.
By the time I finally received a menu, I had been waiting 30 minutes total and was ready to order immediately. I ordered a Bloody Maria and breakfast. The drink arrived with no garnish—and although the bartender acknowledged it and said she’d bring it, it never came. It also took another 10 minutes just to get the drink.
In total, I spent over an hour and 30 minutes trying to place a to-go order and eat, and when my food finally came, it was still incorrect.
I understand Sundays are busy, but being completely ignored, waiting endlessly, and then being served incorrect food and an unfinished drink is not acceptable. I even spoke with a manager while I was there, and he said, “Yeah, we really need to reevaluate who’s working the bar.” If that’s the case—why isn’t something being done?
I also sent this feedback via email and haven’t received any response. I wasn’t trying to leave this as a public review, but the lack of follow-up left me no...
Read moreHad a wonderful breakfast here yesterday. I was skeptical after seeing the low rating for this place. My husband and I were greeted by a friendly woman and seated right away. The place is clean and has a beautiful view of the lake. We sat inside but there is a large patio for warmer days. The menu is huge, they have just about everything you could want.
MARDI GRAS OMELETTE Louisiana crawfish, gulf shrimp, andouille and peppers, topped with hollandaise, tomatoes and green onions. English muffin and fresh country potatoes. This was very good!
LOBSTER & BRIE OMELETTE Cream cheese-filled omelette topped with Brie cheese and champagne butter sauce sautéed lobster meat, tomatoes and green onions. I had the grits and English muffin with it. Loved the flavor and chunks of lobster the sauce was really delish
We both agreed that the lobster and Brie omelette was the better of the two. We didn't have any cocktails, most drinks on the menu were $10-$12 which I did think was expensive for a breakfast cocktail in this town. I'm from MN and I would pay $10-$12 in Minneapolis but not here. My lobster omelette wasn't hot it was just luke warm and my husbands omelette was hot. It would've been nice to have warm English muffins where the butter melted. Those are my two suggestions to the restaurant. All in all it was very good the service was great and so was the food! The website and menu in the window doesn't list prices but you can expect to pay $12 and up for...
