I called City Harbor at 10 AM on Monday, June 12, to ask if The Wake had a phone number. The girl who answered stated no. I told her I wanted to know if The Wake took reservations? She stated no that they would not be busy around 5:15, which was the time I told her my family & I would be meeting for my birthday dinner. I also told her I would be driving an hour and 30 mins away and had family driving from Huntsville, so I wanted to make sure The Wake would be open. The girl stated yes. My family & I arrived for my birthday dinner and "The Wake" was closed!!! It was 5:15! I could not believe what was happening! We drove so far to find when we arrived, the doors were locked! Hours of operation were posted on the door from 11 AM till 9 pm! I was so embarrassed to tell my family! I could have chosen any restaurant for my birthday but chose The Wake since it would be a half way between place from me and my family traveling from Huntsville. The girl whom I had spoken with that morning should have phoned me back to let me know of any changes. Needless to say....I will never forget...

This is a brand new multi use facility with several restaurants, a lakeside bar called Levi's and beautiful home decor shop. There is also a cool brewery called the brewers cooperative. There is an event space on the second floor as well as two bedroom condos which have balconies over looking the water. There is artificial grass in spots for kids and a long boardwalk that goes all the way around the facility. There are many reclining rocking chairs to sit in to. This is the first I've seen of these chairs they're very cool. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights on the pier by the water at Levi's. We ate at the broken egg it was good. I was told there is a hotel and other plans to expand. Awesome place to spend a weekend. We stayed at the hooper house bed and breakfast which is on the same street two...

Stayed at the City Harbor Suites for my son’s wedding. It was very expensive for a no service motel. The biggest disappointment was when we arrived we found the pillow had dried blood and lipstick on it. Since there are no services nobody could give us a replacement. The mattress had a big dip in the middle and was very uncomfortable. I just kept hoping we would not get bed bugs. The day of the wedding the shower was ice cold. They only gave us one towel for a 3 day stay. Had to go buy laundry detergent to wash towels. To top it off they make you wash the bed sheets before you leave or you get charged extra. I guess that explains why our bed was dirty. The only good thing about this place is that it was a good location for...

Last year we traveled through Alabama in our motorhome and visited the City Harbor in Guntersville. Awesome place to grab a bite to eat, have some ice cream, watch the boats out on the lake and relax in the swinging chairs on the deck. This year we made Alabama our home state and enjoy bringing family visitors to see the harbor. There are vintage ships stationed there this summer, replicas of the Pinta & the Santa Maria, which are 2 of the 3 three ships that Christopher Columbus sailed across the Atlantic to America. For a fee you can take a tour tour aboard the ships.

Free to the public. You are able to fish, pic nic or even grill. They have a pavilion area, lots of grassy area and long docks to fish off of. I believe pets are allowed as long as they are kept on a leash. No food or beverages, so make sure you bring your own. UPDATE: SO Google just asked "has this place changed"; boy has it!!!! lol Lots of restaurants, a hotel, cigar bar, brewery with a fantastic menu and much more! Although, at this time, half of the businesses aren't open yet, I'm sure it will be great when they do.
