X-Flight is hands-down one of the most thrilling and creative roller coasters at Six Flags Great America. From the moment you approach the ride, you’re drawn in by the aviation theme—the station is designed like a hangar, the sound effects add to the atmosphere, and the whole experience makes you feel like you’re preparing for a daring flight mission. The seating is what makes this ride really stand out. You sit on the sides of the track with nothing above or below you, which gives you an incredible sense of openness. When the ride starts and you climb that 120-foot hill, the anticipation builds fast. The first drop is a dive twist that flips you upside down and sets the tone for the rest of the ride—it’s smooth, fast, and full of tight inversions and sweeping turns. One of the most memorable parts is the near-miss “keyhole” element, where you feel like you’re about to crash into a structure but zip right through it at the last second. It’s a clever and heart-racing moment that really catches you off guard in the best way. Every inversion feels perfectly placed, and the layout keeps you engaged from start to finish. I rode it with my family and we all agreed that X-Flight offers something different from the typical coaster experience. It’s not just about speed and drops—it’s about the feeling of flying, and the freedom of gliding through the air with twists and turns that make you feel weightless. If you’re a thrill-seeker, make this one of your first stops. The lines can get long later in the day, but it’s well worth the wait. This is a must-ride if you’re visiting the park—innovative, fun, and packed with adrenaline from beginning to end. I’d ride it again in a heartbeat.

This is a really fun wing coaster and I was able to ride it front row on the inside, so it was a much smoother experience. Personally, I like Gatekeeper at Cedar Point more and find it more thrilling. But the near misses on X Flight and the rolls it does through them are definitely superior. Those blew me away. It's aesthetically a gorgeous ride to look at. Definitely have to give it a few more rides next time I'm here.

X Flight at Six Flags Great America is a ride you just can't miss! This wing coaster offers a unique and thrilling experience that’s different from any other ride in the park. The sensation of flying, with nothing above or below you, is simply amazing. The twists, turns, and near-misses with the ground and structures keep your heart racing the entire time. It’s incredibly smooth and the perfect mix of thrills and fun. Plus, the theming and design of the ride add an extra layer of excitement. X Flight is definitely one of the standout attractions...

I'm not trolling trying to hate this thing. I literally stopped at Cedar Point on the way to Great America so it would be easy to determint team Gatekeeper or team X-Flight. It turns out that probably wasen't necessary because this is by far the roughest B&M coaster I have ever ridden. I wanted to be team X Flight because I don't like letting the Cedar Point fanboys have their way. But there is no redeeming quality of this ride I can think of except that it isn't as bad as a B&M...
