Hired Dr. Sofa to disassemble and reassemble my sofa that couldn’t fit in the elevator. They quoted me 350$. I arranged time frame from 9-1 pm Saturday morning. They said that they usually don’t do it on weekends so they charged me extra 60$ for weekend and extra $60 for travel time(which is not clear to me why since I live in Brooklyn. ) but nevertheless I organized my movers to bring sofa from warehouse at 9. Then Friday 5 pm I get voicemail saying that they needed to move appointment to 1 pm. So again I needed to reorganize my movers to come as late as possible so I don’t spend time waiting on technicians. Meanwhile they already charged me 470$ on Wednesday. At 1:30 no one shows and I am in lobby with sofa calling them 7 times. No one can give me any information or number of technicians. They supposed to send me confirmation email with his number but they never did. Technicians calls me at 2:30 pm saying that he will be there in one hour. They showed up at 5:15 pm. I had to bail out my job because no one could stay and watch sofa in the lobby. On top of that they charged me $200 extra for disassembly the arm because it couldn’t fit in elevator. (That was the problem in the first place. ) they never apologized or offered discount because of the wait time that occurred. Read moreDr. Sofa was very much the best solution to an unexpected and stressful problem. Our RH sofa (9ft x 4ft) did not fit in any of the elevators or stairwells in our new place. We discovered this on a Saturday, and after calling Dr. Sofa the following Monday, I had an appointment with a technician scheduled for that week. The customer service reps took the time to walk me through the process and were very patient with an obviously stressed out customer. The technician - Diego - was professional, friendly, and meticulous as he worked through all the nuts and bolts of my piece.
Unfortunately, there were problems in the quality of our sofa that I did not catch immediately after Diego put the couch back together in our new place. It's base wasn't perfectly aligned and there was a creak that was very noticeable. Upon calling Dr. Sofa, they were initially difficult to pin down in terms of their warranty, what options I had, and ultimately fixing the problem, but Madeline (the Managing Director) managed the process (and me) through to a solution and coordinated two different maintenance teams to help me get my sofa back to its peak form.
I can tell that it was cut in half and put back together but no one else can and ultimately Dr. Sofa delivered on what they promised - my sofa sitting comfortably in my new living room with little to no sign of them ever have...

After getting the contract signed, never heard back until I emailed about a week prior to service asking to confirm around what time it may be. They told me they appreciate me trying to move my schedule around but they could only tell me 9a-3p and would notify the day before of a more narrow window. The day of, I had to email them to ask what the window was as I never heard from them. They never scheduled us and said they did not update the date in the system so we were not put on their day schedule and trying for something the following day. We had to take off of work for the day they were coming since it was such a big window and now we had to take another day off? I called and spoke with Madeline who repeatedly yelled at me “This happens.” I could not even get a word in without being yelled at. No, this doesn’t just happen when this is part of your job to accurately schedule clients when the contract was signed and scheduled for a particular day.
