Lake Whitney is a flood control reservoir on the main stem of the Brazos River in Texas. It is located on River Mile Marker 442 and controls drainage for 17,656 square miles of Texas and parts of New Mexico. It’s a beautiful place especially on an early weekend morning. Take the dog for a walk or just a jog. It’s in the middle of small roadways so you have to be careful but if you’re cautious you’ll be amazed. Truly awesome
