I used to come to this location quite frequently in the early 1990s when the food was superb! All the tables had tablecloths, the service and food were fantastic! From 2006 to 2012, I will get takeout from here at least once a month when Dan owned the place, Szechuan Delight. Food and service were still fantastic! I knew the servers and they treated me very well. Since then, when the place became Jasa, it all went downhill.
After not eating there for a couple of years because the food wasn’t as good as it used to be, I decided to give Jasa another chance this evening.
The place was about half full, and I was disappointed that only booths were available. No more tablecloths on the tables, no more tables with chairs. There was no hostess by the front door to greet me, I had to wait for the server (apparently she was the only server on this busy Friday night), so I understood why the service was subsequently slow.
A bowl of very greasy, cold fried wontons appeared on my table, along with a solo plastic mini container for duck sauce.
I am accustomed to automatically getting a pot of hot green or black tea with the wontons, it was never offered. No plain or iced water was offered, either.
First course, I ordered the hot and sour soup. It was OK, but a little too thick for my taste. Thick enough to taste the corn starch!
Potstickers were my choice for second course. They, too, were just OK...definitely not like the potstickers used to be at this location...and half the size! The accompanying sauce was rather bland, with no chopped scallions as a garnish. I had to ask for chopsticks!
For the main course, I ordered Mushu pork, which is a childhood favorite of mine. When it finally arrived to my table with a small bowl of white rice, I asked the server, “Where are the pancakes?” She pointed to the small butter plate that was covered with plastic wrap. On top of the plastic wrap, was yet another solo mini plastic container holding the hoisin sauce. Under the plastic wrap, was what looked like toilet tissue folded in quarters. The plate was hot, but the fake folded pancakes were absolutely cold! I was expecting round thin pancakes, similar to crêpes. I found a picture of Mandarin pancakes on Google, and I showed the server what the pancakes are supposed to look like. She shook her head and said, we don’t do that here. I said, “this is no good.“ This ruined my dinner.
I did not have a good experience at this place tonight, the server did very little to help make amends, and the food was less than adequate. I have no intentions of...
Read moreI wish to share how JaSa Asian Cuisine use to be a restaurant that I really enjoyed going to, especially when bringing a special companion out for a romantic meal. On 5/11/2025 on "Mothers Day" I decided to take my mate to celebrate her strong strengths of being a awesome mom. The staff, atmosphere, food and service was totally unfamiliar to me. I was taken aback by the whole experience from what I was use too during my past visits. What really shocked me was when it came time to pay my bill of $62.75 this female server was given $80.75 and never returned back with my change. As My date and I sat waiting for 11 minutes as she past by us several times just smiling. I then said to her politely "Miss. can I please get my change?" Her response was in a high pitch voice "WHAT NO TIP? IT'S MOTHERS DAY AND I HAVEN'T RECIEVED A TIP ALL DAY!" At that time I became very upset because If I chose to leave my $18.00 as a tip that should be of my choice not to just be strong armed and have my change taken without asking or seeing what I was going to leave for her, as a tip. I was done after experiencing her bringing my change back to me with a attitude. I will never return back to JaSa Asian Cuisine again due to the service of this Asian woman. It saddens me that a place that I once loved going to isn't no longer a favorite...
Read moreA Very Bad Restaurant. As you walk-in, the smell of mildew and rotting bamboo immediately hits you. The prices were as high as a nice Chinese restaurant for bad quality food with no thought in food preparation. We ordered 1. wonton in hot sauce ($9), 2. mapo tofu ($15), 3. general tso shrimp ($20). The wontons had clearly been microwaved from frozen (tops were dry/starchy and bottoms were soggy) and the peanut sauce did not go well with them. The tofu was decent, but mapo sauce tasted like the pre-prepared sauce boxes and it was room-temperature. The general tso shrimp was just plain weird. It had over-battered fried shrimp that were peeled poorly and it was difficult to tell where the tails were. Even though I tried to eat the shrimp above the tail, I still had to pull a lot of pieces of shell and tail out of my mouth. The sauce was just a gelatin-like sweet chili sauce and nothing like gen tso sauce. Additionally, my girlfriend could not use the restroom as the women’s toilet was leaking brown water. Overall, had a terrible experience and...
