I came here for the first time with a friend from out of town. We were seated at the counter. A few minutes go by and another couple gets seated next to us and the waitstaff takes their order. A few minutes later, our waitress takes our order. About 25 minutes after being seated, the couple next to us receives their food. My friend and I are waiting with empty coffee cups trying to get our waitressās attention as she walks by several times while looked passed us. We finally get her attention, ask for more coffee, and she asks what we had ordered. She had never put it in.
About 40 min after being seated, we try to get her attention again. Since the food was taking so long we wanted to order a slice of pie. My friend had medication that had to be taken with food, and was overdue in taking it. We finally got her anterior and asked to order a slice. She nodded, then walked away. A few minutes later, she came back, assured us the food was coming and asked what kind of pie we wanted. Since it appears like our order might come soon, we turned down the pie and kept waiting.
An hour after being seated, our situation appeared to grab the attention of someone else behind the counter, who discussed something with the waitress without directly acknowledging us. It was clear that our waitress had never put our order in. After an hour of waiting and being assured that our order was on the way, it had never gone in, and would only go in now, if at all. We didnāt wait to find out. We got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love diners and this was my first time at the Acropolis. We were meeting a friend there for supper. This was a nice place to do so.
The Acropolis is a cozy place. It is full of warm brown wooden booths, with a few tables. The ladies who were working were very friendly and accommodating - we were unable to use a booth and the hostess kindly let us move to a table. We were there around 7 p.m. and the diner was quiet, although there were a few other people in the place. This is not a bad thing at all.
The Acropolis has a pretty decent and varied menu including burgers, soups, sandwiches, and breakfast items. I got the Greek burger with onion rings while my fiancƩ got a club sandwich. One friend got French onion soup and another also got a burger.
My burger was very good - it was dressed with feta cheese, tomato, tzatziki sauce and pickle. Along with the onion rings, it came with a small cup of cole slaw. The portions were very good - I ended up getting a to go box and had plenty left for a second meal.
The Acropolis was pretty decent price wise as well. Once the tip was factored in, four people ate for about $90.
I love diners and the Acropolis is a great example of a classic one. You can't go wrong here if you want good food and a quintessential...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve ordered pizza from here and they messed up my order twice ! I called the first time and the woman on the phone was new and no one was there to help her. The woman also had claimed she was working by herself but in fact no one else was able to resolve or work a register. The only capable person to help was out delivering the pizza instead. The one delivering the pizza is a woman named cate. She came in my place of business cursing and demanding for the incorrect pizza back when I was only trying to get the correct pizza. After her poor display of customer service she left and when I checked the pizza it was again incorrect. Acropolis proceeded to blame slice for the order mishap. Slice was very understanding and helped resolve my issue. When I called acropolis to resolve this they blocked my number and I had to call blocked and all the woman on the phone was saying was āI donāt Knowā and listening to cate in the back who said āoh well thereās nothing we can do call sliceā. I am very disgusted with the service and how it was handled. I was just trying to treat my coworkers to food and acropolis was concerned about the old pizza and how they needed it back. Acropolis Please do better and talk to your staff about how to treat the people they...
