After dropping our son off at the airport, we came across this museum when we strolled around after grabbing a bite to eat in Hapeville.

It was an unexpected highlight of the day as our friendly tour guide, Patty, showed us around and informed us about all the interesting local history, not only related to the train depot, Ford plant, and the beginnings of the ATL airport, but also on the technology of that era including a Morse code device, a paper copier, and a very intimidating hot curler machine (that looked like it could set one’s head on fire! 😬😆).

Those were just a few of the many interesting things to see and I was glad that Patty was there to point them out to us. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known what some things were like the simple metal hoop that was used for delivering messages to the train conductor as the train passed by! I would’ve loved to have brought my kids here when I was homeschooling them! Oh, and if the door to the museum happens to be locked during open hours, just knock and they’ll...

During our visit to Hapeville, GA, we had the pleasure of touring the Hapeville Depot Museum, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget! This charming museum is packed with history, artifacts, and stories that bring the rich past of Hapeville and the surrounding area to life.

What truly made our visit exceptional was our fantastic tour guide. Their passion for history and deep knowledge of the museum’s exhibits made every moment engaging and informative. 🌟 A Must-Visit Historical Gem in Georgia!🌟

The Hapeville Depot Museum is an absolute treasure! 🏛️ Stepping inside this beautifully restored 1890s train depot, you can feel the rich history and industrial legacy of the region. As one of the oldest remaining depots in Georgia, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. 🚂✨

Our visit was made even more special by the wonderful tour given by Patty Dawson. Her knowledge and enthusiasm brought the exhibits to life and made our experience unforgettable. 🗣️💫

My friend and i had a great visit; what a gem! We could have spent longer; a fascinating display of train travel & memorbelia, that on permanent display, but we went to see @laurenmerceronart and her women’s exhibit. A very varied mini exhibit. awaited us, a sampling of local women art, that made you want to explore more of their work. The staff is very friendly and a few cards and local cookbook, make up their tiny gift shop!
