Let me tell yâall how fate works. I was sitting in my Airbnb craving something sweet but absolutely refusing to drive more than five minutes. I stumbled across Buttersweet Bakery on North Central Avenue and honey, it was like a sugar siren calling my name. The charm of the place lured me right in and I walked through those doors fully prepared to commit a crime against a Key Lime Cupcake. Plot twist: they were sold out.
But fear not, because the sweetest lady behind the counter said, âTry the Lemon Cupcake.â And listen, that Lemon Cupcake was summertime in a wrapper. Bright, zesty, a little pick-me-up for my soul. I also grabbed a Red Velvet Cupcake because I donât play games when it comes to dessert variety. The Red Velvet was delicious and gave what it was supposed to give.
But wait. Somebody call CNN, alert the media, and get me a press conference because the real headline here is the Cookie Cheesecake Bar. I came in for a cupcake and left in a committed relationship with this bar. Cookie base, cheesecake topping, mysterious magic in the middle. Not too sweet, just the perfect balance. I could not put it down. At one point I had to physically remove it from my own reach like it was toxic because I was about to inhale the entire thing in one sitting.
The vibes? Pure hometown bakery magic. Someone was working remotely at a table. Another person was there with their child enjoying a treat. The dĂ©cor felt like walking into grandmaâs kitchenâcomplete with a Barbie case full of vintage dolls and news articles celebrating the ownerâs success. Kitschy, charming, and heartwarming all in one.
The staff? Sweet as pie and twice as comforting. The ownerâs touch is everywhere and you can feel the love baked into every item. From cookies to cupcakes to those world-stopping cheesecake bars, itâs clear this bakery is a community treasure.
Would I recommend? Absolutely. Would I come back? Without question. And next time, Key Lime Cupcake, you and I have...

The smell was a very familiar and amazing aroma. And the cupcakes looked amazing as well. We purchased the Georgia Sweet Brownie (Which was Delicious). The gentlemen said that we would figure out the ingredients after we tasted it and all I can say is i think we figured it out but even if we missed some items it is the greatest Brownie on this side of Heaven. We also got a Walnut Brownie that was again delicious. And the last two items we purchased were Red Velvet and Key Lime Cupcakes. When I say everything we got was The Best. I will be making a road trip back to Atlanta to purchase more items and next time I'll be ordering a dozen cupcakes and a whole cake as well. I can't remember the gentleman's name who helped us but your customer service sir is impeccable. You made us feel special. And anytime you come through Forsyth Ga feel free to drop off...
Read moreI order a cake for my boyfriend's birthday recently from Buttersweet Bakery. When i contacted the bakery they were very professional . I was a little nervous, because I live in Michigan and wanted to be sure I would get the cake I desired without ,having stepped foot inside the bakery . We worked via email to get the right logo (Detroit Lions) and design for the cake. The day I arrived in town the cake wasn't ready, but I was assured they would deliver it to me the next day. They followed through and delivered the cake to me at the time we had agreed upon. My boyfriend loved the cake! I was very pleased. The cake was moist and very good. I'm not cake person so that says alot about the quality of the cake. He took the cake to his job and shared it with his coworkers. The cake got rave reviews from all his coworkers . All in all I had a great experience and I would definitely recommend...
