THEY WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER DIME OF MY MONEY!!!!!
I'm actually very disappointed that I have to leave such a negative review.
As many others have stated previously, this place has scrumptious authentic Mexican food. As a California native, it's a challenge to find Mexican food of substance in the Atlanta area.
I've been a weekly patron of this location for a little over 6 months now and up until recently I was always satisfied. I'm not sure if ownership has changed or what but their customer service has diminished severely.
Last week I came and ordered a burrito at about 5:00pm (well before their closing time) and when it was time to pay the young lady at the register told me that she didn't have my .77 cents of change that I was due. That was a peculiar statement coming from someone with an open cash register full of money.
I asked her if she could give me a full dollar instead. She shook her head and said "no," and then commenced to count out pennies. After she was done she handed me the change I asked her if it was .77 cents and she said "No its like .53." At this point it became about principle. I told her this was unacceptable and she then began to consult with her colleague in Spanish, subsequently handing me $1 from the tip jar (of which I contribute to during every one of my visits.)
I then asked her for my usual radishes, lime and salsa on the side that they tend to neglect to include even though I request these items at the beginning of all my orders.
She told me that it was going to be an additional $1.50. In all my visits there I had never been charged an additional fee for these items, I was livid!!! I gave them the money and left.
Yesterday I went back to this location hoping that my last visit was just a fluke. I ordered the same thing but when it became time to pay I handed her $100 and she stated that she didn't have change. This is somewhat understandable but since the food was already done I would imagine she would feel compelled to check with the neighboring stores to see if they had any change. Instead, she just looked at me. I took it upon myself to retrieve the change which was provided in five $20 bills. I went back to the restaurant and handed her $20 for a bill of $11.54 and she handed me back $8.00, essentially shorting me .46 cents. Keep in mind this is a "take out" order so there shouldn't be any expectation of a tip.
This made me so choleric that I didn't even say anything for fear of losing my temper to a draconian degree.
Instead, I decided to allow that .46 cents to be a symbol of my departure as a loyal customer.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND...
Read moreDeserving of 5 stars, due to the excellent service, and value for the quality of food. This is not a fine dining establishment, but it tickles that craving for authentic Hispanic cuisine. The buffet selection is a small assortment of entrees (only 2-3) and a nachos bar, with your complement of standard sides: beans, rice, squash, fritas and such. You will find loads of crumbled cheese and sour cream at the nacho station if you want to Tex it up, but I prefer it without too much dairy.
This trip I went with the buffet, but they have a chalkboard with daily specials if you want to go a la carte. I tried the quesadillas. Pretty good, perhaps a little above average. An enchilada, same. I tried the carnitas. Delicious! as they should be. I tried the tilapia (served as a whole fish, salt crusted, scored, and baked). Fantastic! pro tip, use your fingers to pull it apart, and dip in hot sauce. Add a bit of pickled jalapeno in the mix if you enjoy extra kick. I also sampled the fritas, which were much better than they looked. The beans and rice were as they should be, savory, salty, and gut-bustingly good. Finally, I love horchata, and it boggles me that there are some "Mexican" restaurants in Atlanta that don't serve it. These folks DO serve it, and it's silky, sweet and has a nice bite of cinnamon.
I will be back....
Read moreI wish I could give this place ZERO stars! This place should not be called a Mexican Buffet when there is no Mexican food on the buffet! Tortillas and tortilla chips does not equal a Mexican restaurant. What little food was on the "buffet" was not what you would find at your typical Mexican restaurant. There was a little fruit, some chicken legs in some kind of red sauce, some vegetable that I couldn't name, and cookies. THAT IS ALL! There was nothing to make tacos with, no ground beef or cheese, no enchiladas, literally NOTHING that you would expect to find on a Mexican Buffet. They don't even serve queso dip! When I said that we wanted to leave because we were not impressed, they told me I had to pay despite the fact that we hadn't eaten or drank ANYTHING, I told her fine anything to get out of there. I paid $10.70 so that we could leave. What the $10.70 was for or where they came up with that amount, I have no idea! Beware of...
