Dunham's Sports — Attraction in Harrison Township

Well, this was the very 1st time I have been to a Dunham's Sports store. It was actually larger than I expected & had a much wider variety of sporting goods than I expected as well, from clothing & shoes to firearms,ammunition, kayaks & fishing gear. I didn't have time to explore the whole store but it has much more than what I just described. The biggest issue was finding someone to help me with what I went there for. I was looking for the 14 gun "cabinet" ( not a gun safe ). I was putting some items in a storage facility & wanted an extra layer of protection that was lockable. There were perhaps maybe 3 people working in the entire store. Perhaps it's because this store is in Harrison, Ohio. It's a bit of a drive for me to get there but it's way closer than the next closest location in Kentucky. At any rate I only give it 3 stars due to the excessively long wait to get someone with my purchase. Once the very kind lady got to me everything went very quickly. She even delivered on a 2 wheel cart my purchase to my truck. Fantastic. The quality of the gun cabinet is very good, but some assembly is required of interior components, which I did NOT expect. That's okay though. It was in good condition out of the box & should serve my expected purposes quite well. It is a STACK ON product which is a brand name. One thing I did really appreciate was the manager explaining to me that this was in no way as heavy duty as a gun safe. I knew this already but still appreciated that there is a significant difference between the 2. She explained that she had had some people return them because they had higher expectations of this type of product. It's much more like a locker cabinet than a safe, which is exactly what I needed. Overall I will be returning to this store, online at first since it's such a drive, but there is still nothing like holding your desired item of purchase in your hands...

I called in the other day to see if they had a particular gun I was looking for and was told they didn't, I was right outside so i decided to go in anyway to check out what they had, well when i went to the gun counter of course nobody was there and iIhad to hunt someone down, after a lengthy wait... the manager, I believe her name was Sue... came back to "help"me when she came back she was clearly frustrated with my presence...like how dare i want to buy from her store... so after a lot of huffs and puffs from her I asked for the gun that i called about, you know the one they didn't have the phone a few minutes before that was now on display... and was given all kinds of attitude and asked to see my ID before I could see the gun, which had never happened before at any other store, I took out my CCW and was told they do not take that as a form of ID, which is valid at any other gun store but... I decided to buy gun because it was sold out at every other store and this was the last resort. So I fill out my papers and put them in front of her on the counter, she sees that I am finished and decided to call an employee back over her radio just to shoot the breeze about something that could of waited so I am patiently waiting for them to wrap up their conversation and finally she gets to me, well then after hearing her complaining about her job still talking to her employee she then made a comment about how frustrated she was because people were buying things from her store... her exact words were "just because we have staff people think they have to buy everything " WOW what a shame the company has someone representing them like her. I WILL NEVER GO...

Called the store to inquire about a muzzleloader. The lady that answered the phone took my information of what I was looking for, she put me on hold to check and see if they had any in stock. She came back on the line and said they have 2 Cva muzzleloaders in stock. When I asked if they were strike fire or nitro fire she had to put me on hold again to check. After 15 minutes on hold I hung up and called back. The same girl answered and told me that they didn’t have any muzzleloaders in stock. When I informed that I was the customer she just left on hold she hung up on me. I called back again and asked for a manager. The manager was able to speak with me she did inform me that they did have 2 cva muzzleloaders in stock but didn’t have anyone there that really knew much about guns. I informed her that I should have just been told that they didn’t know instead of being placed on hold and hung up on. She said she would address the matter but still the overall experience was not good with them. Thankful manager was polite, honest, and direct to help me get an...
