Express Driving School — Attraction in Harrison

Can’t even begin to explain how grateful and appreciative I’m for the professionalism and treatment at Express driving school. I had a very small window of time to practice and get through this driving exam. I had driven before but regardless I decided to find a driving school near by that would help me pass this road test. After researching for hours I decided to give this school a chance and called over the phone to Schedule my appointments. The staff is amazing and understanding and obviously put your needs first and understand that the customer’s time is of value. I had schedule for 3 days of practice 2 hours each. The instructor arrived right on time and the office staff calls a day before to confirm your appointment which is always nice to have a reminder. My Instructor was Crystal!! I can’t even begin to explain how grateful and blessed I feel to have worked along side with her. From the very first moment she picked me up I felt extremely comfortable. She always makes sure to correct any mistakes and practice with you until you get it right. I had a very hard time in parralel parking before and in my first lesson with Crystal she explained it so well that I caught on to it in minutes. For the first time ever I actually looked forward to driving and practicing with an instructor. She is a very humble instructor that will never raise her voice and allows you to make mistakes so that you can learn from them. By our second lesson it felt as if I had known her years just by the way she treats you with so much respect. Crystal definitely knows each and every little detail and always has such amazing feedback to give back that will only help you improve your driving. The day of my test arrived, I was still nervous but she made sure to ensure me that I had to believe in my self because she belived in me. She really wants all of her students to pass which really shows her dedication to the students. I took my road test in Wayne and from the first lessson crystal would make sure I had a good hang of driving in very narrow streets because of how narrow the course is at Wayne. There aren’t enough words to thank Crystal for helping me achieve this goal, passing my road test on the first try.!!!!!!. Before I get into this, I just want to start with saying that Viviana is an EXCELLET teacher and I would give her 5 stars if I could. But since this reflects off the entire school, I'm deciding 2.

The reason? Well. They're extremely backwards. I was given the outdated contract when they apparently have an updated one. I gotten sick twice and had to reschedule, and despite not only the counter person saying it was $35 to reschedule, and my contract saying it was $35 (by the hour), I still ended up paying more due to it saying it was by the hour. But since my classes were only an 1hr and 45 minutes, I decided to meet the school in the middle with paying $50 rather the $70 that was originally sent to me. Yeah, they sent me a link to pay $70 to only change it to $50 after calling them out on it.

Now with my most recent issue. My WRITTEN schedule says my class was at 1:15. I waited and waited. Then my instructor calls me at 1:45. A whole 30 minutes after my scheduled time. I then call Express to tell them the whole problem and to state that being 30 minutes late doesn't excuse anything and if I had been 30 minutes late, I would need to pay a fee. They claimed to have confirmed 1:45 with me prior and that is not what I heard at all (unless my call was recorded, which is against the law without my knowledge. There's no warning prior to calling stating the call may be monitored and recorded so if they did in fact record my calls, that'd be a fat lawsuit waiting.) They said nothing. I requested a full refund for the class to which they declined, and offered other suggestions. At this point, with all the back and forth I've been doing with them, I was frustrated and just asked for a refund on the class, to which they kept declining. I ended up having to take an hour class today then 30 minutes tomorrow before my road test. So now, I'm having to shift my life around just because they didn't want to give me the money back for my class. Had they accommodated and agreed with me, gave me my refund, I would've given them 5 stars because it shows they can own up to their errors and fix it but no. They wished to be difficult.

SO. In the end. I had a GREAT experience with the driver, solid lessons and I have no doubts in my ability to pass tomorrow. Document EVERYTHING, only ask for text proof for confirming lessons as them calling is clearly rigged.

heres my story at Express driving school. I started pursuing my Class A CDL February 2018. I first started off bopping around trying different driving schools. I tried my first one and the instructors at that one were impatient with me and expected me to learn everything very fast. I decided to not go to that one anymore and i transferred to Express driving school in Harrison, NJ. Express school has a lower price and the service is SO MUCH BETTER! The instructors were very patient, very polite, and very humorous, they make it fun to learn how to drive trucks. They have special package deals but i just couldn't afford to pay all at once so they were convenient enough to let me pay per hour and fit me in their schedules. I learned so much about pretrip inspection, parking a tractor trailer, in cab inspection, everything. I failed my road test on my first time but it was only because i didn't work on my downshifting enough, so i just purchased more hours for practice with the express driving school which i was very happy to do. The school is so good that even after i failed the road test the first time, i wanted to stay and continue to take lessons with them until i passed the road test. I knew i could've switched driving schools at any moment but i decided to stay because the school is a 5 star school and i was always super satisfied with their teaching ethics. Express is the best decision i have ever made in my life and if i ever come across anyone that wants to get a CDL in NJ, i honestly will tell them to go here to express driving school. I would even pay for their first couple of lessons just so they can see how good of a school it is.
