DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE FOR CERTIFIED MAIL & HERE IS WHY.. I recently had a certified letter sent to me which contained very sensitive information and when I went to my front desk to retrieve the document, it was no where to be found. This post office had the worst communication throughout the process and is refusing (post master -Jessica) to refund the additional money spent to send a certified letter which requires a signature upon delivery and of course there was no signature. What happened is I received notification that the document was delivered and it wasn't. I then went to the post office the following morning where they stated the document was delivered. I responded with my security swears a postal man never came into the building at 6:49pm (alleged delivery time). So it begins, the search for the document with sensitive information. The post office had no idea where it was as they were claiming it was handed to my front desk and the front desk is saying that never happened. So, I had no choice but to file a police report. After telling the post office that I had all intention of filing a police report, I received a call from the manager Nichole, stating she is in front with my letter. I asked her where she found it and she made up some excuse that it was stuck to the bottom of the container that holds the mail. But, then again, if that's the case then why did I receive a notification saying "delivered, to individual" IF IT ACTUALLY WASN'T. After she handed the document to me I heard her speak to my security and later that day I asked him where she did find it? and his response is she was in the mailroom and came out and there it was. She took a picture and said she found it. This is not possible because 1. we have cameras 2. I checked the mailroom multiple times, including my mailbox. All-in-all, this entire situation was beyond stressful and the service I paid for was not performed and I would never trust this post office with sensitive information again and...
Read moreMy wife and I went to the postal office for a mailer and found a box of them with a clear note "for sale @ $2". Each mailer had a barcode and same listed price of $2.59. So it's natural to think all mailers were on sale for $2. When checking out, it was scanned at $2.59. After I doubted about the price difference, the staff said only mailers without barcode were for sale at $2. Then I pointed out that all mailers had barcodes, she then changed her tone, saying other mailers should be scanned at $2. Then I randomly selected two mailers in the box and asked her to scan them. Both were scanned at $2.59. She then claimed that other customers must have moved the three mailers from somewhere else into the box, so I still had to pay $2.59. I was tired of her making things up to cover her ignorance and asked for the manager. The manager insisted I should pay $2.59 since I wrote on it. I was not happy to pay the extra 59c because they made customers confused about the price. The manager became very rude and arrogant, kept repeating that they had no fault in it but ours because we didn't ask staff for "correct" price. I was upset of her attitude, and called USPS 800 number for help. I wanted to speak to agent first but she thought I refused to pay and called the police. But the phone didn't go though and I decided to pay $2.59 to settle. However, she refused my payment and wanted us to be arrested since "she already gave us a chance". Finally, the police settled the issue with me paying the full price.
I was extremely dissatisfied with the rude and arrogant attitude of the staff and manager. During the entire process, they didn't show any sincerity to work things out or provide solutions, but kept dodging responsibilities and forcing payment. In the end, they even wanted us to be arrested by the police. It is never a matter of 59c. What we are angry about is their lacking basic courtesy toward customers. Both of them were black 30's women who refused to provide...
Read moreI read all of the reviews on all nearby post offices before choosing Harrison. It had the better reviews based on support for passport inquiries.
My appointment was at 1:15PM on a Wednesday and I was instructed to arrive 15 minutes early. I was running late and arrived at 1:08PM
They only allow ten people in the lobby at a time due to COVID and there were only about eight people before me. There was one guy on the line that had an appointment at 12:45PM, it was now 1:08PM, he was rudely told to make another appointment, I won’t say by who but it seems the man is the supervisor at this location. He wouldn’t even let the man get a word out.
Another couple said they had a 1:15PM appointment, like me, but were sent home because the post office had no record of it. You can make the appointments online at the USPS office by the way.
So anyway, I arrived at 1:08PM and was called to the clerk at exactly 1:15PM, I think if the line was longer and I had gotten to her at 1:20PM they would have sent me home. So you must arrive 15 min before, it’s better to wait on the side for a little then to be told to make another appointment and go home.
The passport clerk was super sweet, she asked me to step aside for a few as they took other customers for packages. I waited about 5 minutes and was called over by the clerk again. Passport renewal Process was fast and super easy, I was out of there by 1:28PM so in total I was in there 20 minutes.
Way better than a whole day in Clifton or Newark passport offices.
I have to go back for my sons passport as he has to be there with me and I was not aware.
All in all, great service, compared to other post offices.
PS: I don’t know how it is during busy peaks or Weekends but I recommend going on a Wednesday or any week day around 1PM or...
