Leña y Carbón Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Harrison

Went to this restaurant with open expectations since it's a chain restaurant. My first impression was the inside was nice and they had live singer who was pretty good and the hostess was very friendly and attentive. But after sitting down and ordering food the expectations fell rapidly. We had like 3-4 different waiters/waitresses which was confusing. We ordered 2 apps and drinks. The calamari was ok as expected for a chain and the mussel ceviche was ok as well.

We then ordered a noodle dish (Tallarin Saltado Mixto)with chicken a steak but the steak was more of roast and not steak (very disappointing). We also ordered the Traditional Lomo Saltado which is Skirt Steak, onions in a marinated sauce with French fries and rice. Fort off the sauce had no flavor, the steak was thick cut and chewy and the rice was over cooked. (Very Disappointed)

The Server/s never checked in and we had to ask for small plates for the app. Once dinner was over it took about 10 minutes to find a server to get the check. At one time there was only one server on the floor even though the restaurant was packed.

Overall the food was bad and not flavorful at all and the service was not very good except for the hostess.

Definitely not worth 120 dollars for 2 apps, 2 mixer drinks, 2 Poland springs water bottles and 2 tasteless meals with an 18 percent gratitude included in the bills for poor service.

This restaurant was a WEIRD experience. We were seated quickly, and given a digital menu. It was a little odd but I decided to not let it deter me. However, once I got the food I was disappointed. I ordered the Jalea. The portion was big, but it was bland. The texture was okay but once you bit into a fried fish, just no flavor. I sat there wondering, was it worth it for the fish to die for this? The chicha morada tasted off; it tasted like bottled chicha and not the handmade one. My mother ordered a very sad causa acevichada which was also pretty bland. The service was bad as well, the host gave us the menus and I barely saw my server; he only came by once to take our order and then disappeared. When we needed some condiments I had to ask another server, and then a different one when we needed to pay. And I saw my server was still working, he hadn't left. The gratuity was added to my bill and it bothered me. I usually don't mind tipping, but I feel like if I had received better service then I would ACTUALLY want to tip. Overall a VERY...

Going to start by complementing the food. The food here is amazing. Great prices as well for the portions. However, if you’re anything like my family and you’re family oriented and would like to enjoy a meal while conversing on a Sunday afternoon/evening then you would appreciate that the ambiance should reflect that. There shouldn’t be blasting music to the point where you can not even hold a conversation with the person sitting right next to you. I couldnt hold a conversation at the table with the family or even hear my baby cry bc of the loud music. There should be music but at a moderate level. Sundays are family time. I would understand loud music on a Friday or Saturday night but not on a Sunday afternoon. Let us enjoy our meal and family time. Don’t ruin the experience with such loud music. When I brought this up to my waiter he made the attempt to ask another staff member to lower the volume but that other employee didn’t care and didn’t lower it. Also, it isn’t kid friendly.
