Camped here with my family (kids 5 and 9) along with some friends. Great little campground especially with kids. Nice playground with activity area which was great for both younger and older kids (play structure, swings, tetherball, basketball , volleyball, corn hole, horseshoes, ladder golf with all equipment set out and ready to use) great little beach with plenty of sand. Private shower rooms, clean bathrooms and well kept pavilions/common areas. Tons of families with kids ready to make new friends. We had a blast. We also loved our camping spot, it was large and in a nicely wooded area. However there were many sites I would not have been happy with. I would definitely avoid the sites near the road and the ones in the middle would give me pause unless I was camping with a group. Also many of the sites share electrical hookups, so if you need that bring your extension cord. Also didn't seem like the best campsite for exploring or hiking it was just too small for that. But overall great experience, the kids are already asking when we...

The positioning and layout of the park is reminiscent of myrtle beach, but scaled down. Positioned between a city and a body of water. There are obvious differences, but the sibling similarities are strong.

The negatives: You can see the main road through town from all or most of the camping spots. The electric service is 30 amps max, and the power access, is awkward for many of the sites requiring upto 50 feet of extension cord.

The positives: Mature trees, lawn or well shaded dirt. Sites are mostly level and parking in the sites is not restricted. The lake is nice and the water is clear. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We are here mid week in June and it is busier than I was expecting.

The park does have loaner extension cords (30 amp), which is very cool. Probably not enough for everyone on a weekend, but I was able to use one mid week.

The sites are good sized, but without much division between them.

The bathrooms are newer and well kept.

For an older park positioned inside a...

Its an older state campground with many marure trees. Restrooms are new and grounds are adequately maintained. Sites tend to be uneven (not level) so be prepared to level your rv as needed. Sandy soil helps water dissipate rapidly when it rains. If your new to backing your rv, it may be challenging due to the many trees....but definitely doable. Only draw back is its situated on a busy intersection, which makes it rather noisy. Beach is nice. Park entrance is hard to see due to main sign set back from the road. Entrance is three lanes wide (one out and two in) but really only wide enough for two with larger RV's. Sites are marked on roadway, but its difficult to tell where some sites start and end. Looks like south side camps close after labor day. Lake is small, and not good for bigger boats. Sites 32 ans 34 on north side, are level and good for larger rv, but very noisy due to the road...

I took my family here after not camping in 10 years. There is very big double standards by the staff. Other campers complained about my bf using his medicinal marijuana. So someone spoke to him, no biggie he complied. Two days later he was approached and HADN’T even been smoking on property by an officer who stated we could leave, he could go to jail or he could hand over all his medicinal. He handed it over and the officer said he would dispose of it. Smoking in public is against the law, he knew that but assumed since we rented the spot it would be ok to smoke in a stationary car or the tent. No biggie but threatening to take someone to jail over a civil infraction is a tad out of line. The camp ground wasn’t concerned about the barking dogs, unruly children or loud drunks until 4 am, but God forbid someone try to consume their medicine. But bathrooms and showers are nice

My family has camped here the past two summer's. There are some really big lots and some rather small lots, so be sure if you are reserving a lot that you have one that will fit your camper. There are no lot on the beach, but there are some that overlook Budd Lake. There are two reasons that I do not give five stars: 1. The beach area is very small. If the campground is busy, there can be trouble finding a place on the beach to claim for your things. This this amplified if a group or organization has rented out the pavilion for a party. 2. The bathroom and shower buildings are very dated. The shower facilities do not offer a lot of privacy either. It is a nice campground with great fishing in Budd Lake for the kids. Also be aware that there are a number of lots that border the main road through town, so if noisy cars and trucks bother you, keep this in mind.
