I normally don't have to share such terrible reviews, with that said I am going to give you my experience from the first time walked in the door till walking out for my last time. Started out by being given a hard time because I requested a booth instead of the table the hostess/supposed manager. I only requested due to am scheduled for back surgery in January and it is very uncomfortable for me to sit in hard chairs like at the table. Was seated in a booth after much attitude given. Our waitress "Brandi" came and ask for our beverage order, 2 Pepsi. When brought our Pepsi placed our order of 2 all can eat fish dinners. She returned with our coleslaw, I immediately opened it was hungry . . . tasted like was spoiled. Needless to say didn't eat it. Brought our fish dinners out looked and tasted great! We were both impressed, "Brandi" said just let her know when we wanted more (was all can eat.) We tried for over 5 minutes to get her attention and let her know we wanted more fish (she was at the booth right next to ours). She brought us the container in picture attached with our first helping of the all can eat. Looked NOTHING like the fish we were served in our main order of the all can eat. We both took our first bite and agreed it not only looked different but tasted nothing like the original fish. It was so nasty tasting neither of us could even eat any of it. So at that point asked for our check we were more than ready to end our first dining experience at Trails End! "Brandi" took our debit card without even giving us a bill yet. She was gone 20 minutes with our debit card. Came back with our bill we looked it over and realized was NOT even for our meal, we had the acye fish (2) and (2) Pepsi. Bill was for $34, and listed our meal as (2) Coors Light beers and chicken strip dinner the merchant copy of our bill was $32, so our wonderful waitress could not even get our bill correct after being gone 20 minutes getting it. When asked about why took so long said she had to put new tape in the machine. At this point I went up to the front hostess station and asked to speak to the manager. The hostess said she was the manager "in training," but the only one there as manager then. Showed her our bills and explained the problem, she took our debit card again and was gone 20 minutes to straighten it out. In the mean time our waitress came up to the hostess station and asked if we had been helped yet, after just being our server for our entire visit? The hostess/manager came back with our bill and a receipt showing had canceled the charge for the wrong order. Then had to get our waitress to try and get the correct bill, "Brandi" finally found our ticket for the meal we ordered. Had an attitude with me because SHE made the mistake with the ticket and bill. By this point I have been standing at the hostess station trying to get their mistakes straightened out for a half hour. Which at no point did the hostess offer to just comp my bill or make it right in anyway. All I can say is definitely if you decide to dine here . . . CHECK your bill before paying it!! I have attached copies of our two incorrect bill's as well as the nasty fish we were served as our ayce helping. The serving that definitely tasted and looked different than what we were served as...
Read moreWe spent $118 on pizzas one night and were told they would be delivered in 45 minutes. 1.5 hours later our delivery driver called to say he couldn't find our house. He was supposedly given a completely different address and was 8 minutes away. 20+ minutes later he arrived with nearly cold pizzas. We called that night while waiting on the pizza and were told they would credit us with 3 free pizzas for the trouble. We called tonight to redeem that offer and were told they'd "look into it and call you back in 20 minutes"?!? They never called. When we called again 30 minutes later we were told they have no idea who made us that offer and they could therefore not honor it. 10/10 do not recommend. Not worth the headache for crap customer service and overly-priced cold pizza.
Edit, in response to John: July 12th at 6pm. 3 pizzas, 2 large cheese sticks. $118.21. I have the receipts- including the minute long voicemail by your delivery driver explaining that he was lost trying to find an incorrect address. I called that very day to resolve the terrible service we were receiving. We called today to redeem the offer we were given on that day 3 weeks ago. We spent 20 minutes on the phone today to resolve the issue. I will not be spending gas money and more time to come to you to be informed yet again that there's nothing you can do. Thanks for the very lackluster offer though. We will take our business elsewhere. Thankfully Momma Cillies always...
Read moreWARNING: DO NOT GO HERE! They promised a 45-minute to-go pickup. After 50 painful minutes, we arrived—only to be told our food wasn’t ready. Then, we waited another 40 excruciating minutes. That’s 1 hour and 30 minutes for take-out, not dine-in. This disastrous service isn’t just a one-off: one Yelp reviewer also waited 1 hour and 20 minutes—and still didn’t get their salad. Clearly, Trails End can’t manage even the simplest orders.
Food That Should Be a Crime
•The “lake perch” was over battered and rubbery, a soggy mess that tasted like refuse. •The grilled chicken salad? Slimy again — and I literally watched the lady throw my side salad together with her bare hands, no gloves in sight. •Potato skins? Ice cold, burnt to a crisp. As if plucked from the freezer and torched.
I waited tables for ten years — I know exactly what good food and service should look like, and this was outright negligence.
Final Verdict (and Warning to All)
Avoid this place at all costs. If the food takes ages for takeout, heaven help you if you dine in. The cuisine isn’t just underwhelming—it’s offensively bad, texturally vile, and a health code violation in spirit. Don’t let the rustic décor or menu praise fool you: the only thing “end” worthy at Trails End is your appetite.
In summary: abysmal service, revolting dishes, avoid...
